Sure, Jason Offutt is a little creepy. But we like that about him!

Interested in time travel, ghost stories, UFOs, monsters, and other such mysterious subjects? A fellow Missourian, Jason literally wrote the book on Missouri ghosts. (Along with a prolific number of other books on the supernatural/paranormal/unexplained.) Throw in a few fictional novels and sprinkle it all with a great sense of humor and you only scratch the surface of how cool this guy is! His multiple auditions via Coast to Coast finally convinced us he was ready to step it up. Welcome to UTP, brother! You made it!

They're back! (And it was so worth the wait!)

What a pleasure it was talking to the gang from Kansas City icons Frogpond. Heidi, Justine, Kristin, and Michelle were gracious enough to give us updates on what's new with the band (like an amazing new record...seriously...it's so good!), coy recruitment of new members, stories from the past and thoughts on the present and future. 

Some takeaways: Don't criticize their gear! Avoid late night Hawaiian road trips with our friend Lisa Umbarger (Toadies; SolShifter). And NEVER underestimate the awesomeness of this unit! 

We also recommend putting in your pre-order on the new record. You won't be disappointed.

Some know him as the front man of Ireland's critically acclaimed Revelino. But these days, Brendan is earning much deserved acclaim on his own. He's a true talent with a passion for music that shines through in the breadth and color of his work. Lucky for us, it comes through in conversation as well! 

Whether discussing the evolution of his career, his creative process, his influences and deep grasp/respect for the history of rock and roll, or waxing about the American political scene, Brandon is both thoughtful and entertaining. (Much as he is as a musician!)

Hanging his hat just north of KC in St. Joseph, MO, Danny is a nationally published music journalist/critic, concert promoter, and collector of musical artifacts. It's safe to say, the guy's got stories. 

We've known Danny for a while now and have lost count of mutual friends. So glad we finally had him on!

As Jon likes to say: "Throw a dart and you'll hit a winner with Forbidden Place." If you like it loud, these guys have you covered with more solid acts than we can count! Tony and Cale clearly love what they do, which probably explains why they do it so well.

So glad we got to FINALLY catch up with this awesome pair and can't wait to see/hear what they have in store. Turns out they've got some pretty good stories too.

Steve Tulipana is one busy guy! Prolific musician (singer, guitarist, bassist best known for his work as front-man for Kansas City's Season to Risk); entrepreneur (co-owner of Kansas City's recordBar, miniBar, and Lemonade Park); and more other stuff than we'd even know how to list here. He's legitimately an institution in KC and we're a little embarrassed that we've taken this long to have him on!
