In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses the life and crimes of Henry Lee Lucas from the perspective of Henry Lee Lucas along with a dive into true documentation in a search of the truth.

In 1936, Henry was born to Nellie Viola Dixon Lucas, 48 years old at the time; Viola was married to 35 year old Anderson Lucas. Nellie was said to be a very violent, non-caring mother. Henry and his sibliings and Anderson faced an abusive existance with Nellie.

At age 14, Henry left home and headed down a path of crime and incarcerations. By 1960, Henry was sentenced to 40 years in prison for being convicted of 2nd degree murder of Nellie.

After only 10 years in prison, Henry is released on parole but his life of crime only persists and grows to his own account.

In this part 1, we will discuss his whole life leading up to his final arrest in June of 1983.

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses the most famous, the GOAT cryptid in America--Bigfoot.

This episode we begin by discussing the early stories of large, hairy creatures, running around on two-legs with a terrible odor and the how the indigenous tribes spoke about these creatures like any other creature here in the America's.

Then in 1812, reports come out when David Thompson (explorer, surveyor, fur trader) publishes his journals that outline his recording of large footprints found in the snow around what would now be Alberta, Canada--these tracks were said to be 14 inches long and 8 inches wide.

We will discuss further reports in 1800's of the "Arkansas Wildmen"--which is reported in newspapes out of Memphis, Tennessee.

By 1870, there is an intial report of a "Wildman" sighting that looked like gorilla's in the Diablo Mountains near San Francisco, California.

We go on and discuss the events in July 1924 in Washington State, then then the prints found in California by Jerry Crew which made the reference to these "wild men" as "Bigfoot" and solidified the name in the public mind.

Of course, we must dive into the very famous and compelling evidence of the Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin film in 1967, which reflected a large hairy, bipedal, female Bigfoot who would be named "Patty" in honor of Patterson.

We continue on to the famous Fouke Monster in Fouke, Arkansas, the happenings of Bobby and Elizabeth Ford in May of 1971 and the encounter of the Woods/Sedgass that happened after the Ford's encounter that made National headlines and a forthcoming movie in 1972 called "The Legend of Boggy Creek"--1 of the highest grossing independent movies ever made.

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa has special guest host Amber on the show for this very creepy special Halloween episode on Bloody Mary the Legend and not the drink.

In this episode, we go back to the early 1700-1800's to discuss the different origin stories of Bloody Mary.

One particular story discusses how Mary is an old witch woman living in the woods. The townspeople do not like her or trust her. She sells tonics and is known to curse people and animals. At some point, town girls go missing and the towns people suspect Mary. They venture into her woods to confront and different stories or variants say different outcomes happen but mainly that Mary is killed and then curses the people and the town if they dare utter her name three times.

Another story is about a Miller's daughter who is enchated by Mary the witch. Ultimately the daughter is saved by the towns folk but the towns folk kill Mary and she again curses them.

A different story is about a girl named Mary who falls ill and dies. Her family is grief stricken and refuse to bury her for a week but once they bury her they do bury her with the string to the bell just in case she is still alive. Unfortunately, for the family she does wake up and rings the bell but they do not hear her and the bell breaks and she dies in the ground but not until she is completely bloody by scrathing her nails and beating on the coffin lid. They notice the broken bell and dig her up and find her bloody body. the legend goes they confirm she's dead by sticking a mirror to her nose and when they do they trap her spirit in the mirror forevermore. And future victims that call her name in the mirror will awaken her spirit to come after them.

I will also, discuss the ultimate Bloody Mary, Mary I of England or Mary Tudor, first official Queen of England, daughter of King Henry VIII, was monikered Bloody Mary because she had 284-300 Protestants burned at the stake during her 5 year reign.

To solidify this episode we conduct our own experiment and record, don't miss out on anything.

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses the Haunted History of The Queen Mary.

In 1929, the Cunard Ship line envisioned a mega ship. The wanted to be in competition with France, and Germany: they wanted the largest and fastest ocean liner. So they began planning for this ship that would be christened the Queen Mary.

The RMS Queen Mary set sail on her maiden voyal in May of 1936. She was the largest, most luxurious ship on the Transatlantic shipping route between England and America.

Famous Hollywood Stars, politicians and royalty would sail on the Queen Mary.

In 1939, The Queen Mary was doing her normal shipping route and landed in New York's Harbour in September and with the turmoil of the war England had to park her in New York. In March of 1940, she went to Australia and she was fashioned for war. She was painted grey and she due to her size and speed she would be extremely vital for England and it's allies in World War II.

During the war, in 1942, tragedy does strike the Queen Mary--she plows right through one of her escort ships--the HMS Curacoa--leading to the death of 338 men.

After WWII, the Queen Mary is re-fashioned in the luxury liner she was made to be and she again runs the oceans with the famous. John F. Kennedy, Judy Garland, Clark Gable, all the Royals and so many more travel on the Queen Mary.

By 1965, the jet age is fully engaged and now the Cunard line has to face selling or scraping the beautiful ship. Many make offers but the City of Long Beach, California win the bid for the Queen Mary.

Between the years of 1970-and now the Queen Mary is a fixture in Long Beach and she is also known for her haunted history and the many deaths that took place on board.

In this episode, I will go through the history but also the deaths and the haunted stories of the Queen Mary.

The Stanley Hotel is built by famous manufacturer Freelan O. Stanley in 1907--the hotel opens it's doors in 1909 to great success.

This episode will outline the early history of Estes Park and then the background of Freelan Stanley and how he came to be the owner/designer of The Stanley Hotel.

We will further discuss the happenings, the hauntings that lead up to 1974, when Stephen King visits the Stanley and writes his book "The Shining" (released in 1977).

I will also add in my own personal experience staying at the Stanley Hotel and what a wonderful town Estes Park is along with outlining all the many ghost stories that correspond with the hotel legend.

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses the missing persons case of Martha and Flora Helmick and John "Ed" Keyton.

Martha, Flora and Ed left out around noon on Friday August 3, 1973, They lived in Bridgewater, Virginia, and were driving to Kentucky to pick up Ed's brother for a family reunion. The three would never make it.

They are reported missing and days turn into weeks, weeks into months, and months into years and zero sign of the 1967 Ford Fairlane Ed drove that day or any sign of the trio. They are presumed dead but no one knows what really happened to them.

In 2016, the Lexington, Kentucky Fire Department is diving the Kentucky River in a routine training and they find a couple of vehicles. One vehicle will have what appears to be human bones.

A massive, collaborative investigation will ensure and lead to the connection that will bring closure to the families of Martha, Flora and Ed.

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa has special guest host Amber delight us with the lore of the Yazoo City Witch of Yazoo City, Mississippi.

Amber begins with a little background of Yazoo City, Mississippi; then lets us know the story of the town--that in 1884, there was an alleged woman that was found to have killed some men and the men were found in her shack down in the swamps of the Yazoo River. Then allegedly the women was buried in the town cemetery and her grave had iron chains around it.

Amber outlines the folklore, and then the real fire of 1904 which engulfed the whole town--this fire that was allegedly prophesied by this story of the woman with the iron chained grave.

Now this grave of the woman or the alleged "Witch" exists today in Yazoo City, and in fact, is a tourist attraction.

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa will discuss the murder of Dr. Andrew Bagby-this is part 2 of a 2 part episode.

On November 5, 2001, Dr. Andrew Bagby tells his supervisor that his on again/off again girlfriend whom he had ended things with just a couple of days ago had shown up at his doorstep that morning. She had driven 15 hours overnight to see him and discuss with him how upset she was that the relationship was over.

Dr. Bagby would leave work at 5 p.m. on November 5, 2001, and would never be seen alive again.

In the episode, we will pick up at November 12, 2001; Dr. Shirley Turner has fled to Canada. In the next month, she will get arrested for the murder of Dr. Andrew Bagby and to the horror of Andrew's parents she'll be let go on bail. By February 2002, she will announce being pregnant with Andrew's baby whom will be born in July 2002.

Dr. Shirley Turner will face extradition and family court issues with David and Kathleen Bagby --ultimately, a judge will rule in favor of extraditing Dr. Turner; however, Dr. Turner in August 2003 will take her own life and the life of Zachary--once again making David and Kathleen suffer.
