Today’s episode is a little bit different from my typical episodes. Today I am talking with my friend Yvette Galaviz. And Yvette is so far my first “repeat guest”. Our first episodes together were Episodes 48 and 49 from June of last year.

This conversation isn’t like my typical interview type conversations. Today is just a girlfriend chat. Because, quite honestly, it’s what I needed. And so I decided that maybe you might need it too. To just take a break from whatever you’re doing, whatever you’re working on, whatever you might be stressed about, and just join me here for a girlfriend chat. 

Yvette is the friend I reach out to when I just need to laugh. The last time she and I were together in person was about 6 months ago when we met up in Denver to attend an event together. So much happened at that event – not just AT the event, but when we were just hanging out in Denver – that we kept trying to sit down at the dining room table of our AirBNB and record a podcast episode together when we were together in person, but it just never happened. So here we are, 6 months later, reflecting back on this event from 6 months ago and just talking about life and family and, really, a little bit of everything.

Today on the podcast I am talking to my friend Jordan Nolan. Jordan is a breathwork facilitator and a retreat host and mentor who also loves taking people on adventures. At the end of 2023, I chose my word for 2024, and it felt perfect. 

But a week into 2024, I realized that the energy around this word – the way I felt about how the word represented my goals and my intentions for the year, and how the word started to feel like a command or a directive to DO something rather than an energy to embody – I realized the word didn’t make me feel the way I wanted to feel. 

The intention behind the word was still important to me though, so rather than completely changing it, I added an additional word to clarify my intention. 

In today’s episode, I share my 4-step process for choosing a word for the year that will help you embody an aligned intention and help you reach the goals you want to reach. 

These steps include: 

*Doing an audit of the previous year. 

*Asking yourself some intentional questions. 

*Identifying the ways you can best support yourself. 

*Review your reflections from the first 3 steps to narrow down and ultimately choose your word or words.
