    EP.50: “SCARLARIOUS” (FEAT. UFR FAM)

Celebrating 50 episodes, and things are getting SCARLARIOUS!

What happens when you combine horror movie fanatics, creepy true stories, paranormal mysteries, questionable Halloween traditions, and a group of friends who can’t take anything seriously? You get a Halloween special that’s equal parts terrifying and hilarious!

This week on Unfit For Radio with JAYKERS, we’re celebrating our milestone 50th episode with a frighteningly entertaining gathering of the UFR family! JAYKERS and RAY welcome STEPHANIE and returning guest CHARLES (Episode 40, “Digital Souls”) for an unfiltered, laugh-out-loud conversation filled with horror movies, ghost stories, true crime mysteries, supernatural encounters, and the ridiculous side of Halloween.

CHARLES kicks things off with a deep dive into the terrifying world of horror cinema. From Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Stephen King classics to psychological thrillers, zombie apocalypses, and disturbing modern horror films, the crew explores what makes a movie genuinely frightening. Are jump scares overrated? Have Hollywood remakes gone too far? And why do horror movie characters consistently make the worst possible decisions?

STEPHANIE brings a unique cultural perspective to the conversation, exploring Mexican folklore, childhood superstitions, La Llorona, and the legends that shape our fears. She also reveals the surprising connection between her name and Stephen King’s horror legacy, along with a terrifying childhood nightmare inspired by Resident Evil.

Meanwhile, RAY proves that sometimes real life is stranger than fiction. From encountering thousands of tarantulas crossing an Arizona highway to cleaning office buildings in full clown makeup, his unpredictable storytelling takes the conversation in some hilarious directions. But things take a darker turn when he shares a deeply personal ghost story, revisits the infamous 1931 Winnie Ruth Judd murder case in Phoenix, and recounts unsettling true crime stories involving human remains mistaken for Halloween decorations.

And because this is Unfit For Radio, the madness doesn’t stop there! RAY introduces the studio to his preserved bat, delivers original Halloween-themed limericks, and reminds everyone why he’s the senior star of UFR.

The crew also ventures into haunted hotels in Jerome, Arizona, ghost hunting adventures, paranormal investigations, elaborate Halloween decorations, haunted attractions, classic zombie movies, and the origins of Halloween traditions. Along the way, expect plenty of ridiculous jokes, unexpected personal stories, spirited movie debates, and the spontaneous chaos that only the UFR family can deliver.

From the supernatural to the downright absurd, Episode 50 celebrates everything that makes Unfit For Radio unpredictable, unscripted, and unapologetically entertaining.

Whether you’re a horror movie enthusiast, a true crime listener, a paranormal believer, or someone who simply enjoys a great comedy podcast, this Halloween special has something for everyone.

So turn down the lights, turn up the volume, and join us for a milestone episode that’s frighteningly funny.

Because around here, even the dead get a good laugh!

EP.49: “Tooth Be Told” (FEAT. DR. BRENT HERRING)

What really happens behind the scenes at your dentist’s office? And why does a simple trip to the dentist sometimes feel more terrifying than the dental bill itself?

This week on Unfit For Radio with JAYKERS, JAYKERS and RAY welcome DR. BRENT HERRING, owner of Herring Family Dental in Phoenix, Arizona, for an entertaining, eye-opening, and surprisingly personal conversation about dentistry, dental anxiety, oral health, and the realities of running a family-owned dental practice.

From brushing, flossing, fluoride, and cavities to energy drinks, sleep apnea treatments, expensive dental procedures, and questionable TikTok dental trends, DR. HERRING separates common dental myths from facts while sharing his experiences treating patients and navigating the challenges of modern dentistry.

Tooth be told, this conversation goes far beyond teeth.

DR. HERRING opens up about the financial pressures of owning a dental practice, the emotional toll of working with anxious patients, professional burnout, and the sacrifices that come with building a business alongside his wife, KIRSTA. He also shares a deeply personal perspective on faith, family, gratitude, and the importance of remembering what truly matters.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Unfit For Radio without JAYKERS bringing his questionable personality and dental humor, while RAY delivers his signature wit and surprises DR. HERRING with a personalized limerick!

    IN THIS EPISODE:

•Dental Myths vs. Facts: Brushing, flossing, fluoride, mouthwash, electric toothbrushes, and what actually makes a difference.

•What’s Destroying Your Teeth? The truth about sugar, soda, energy drinks, coffee, sports drinks, and everyday habits.

•Dental Anxiety & Patient Stories: Why people fear the dentist, managing pain, and unforgettable moments from behind the chair.

•Social Media Dental Trends: Why some viral oral health hacks, including oil pulling, deserve a closer look.

•The Real Cost of Dentistry: Student loans, expensive equipment, rising operating costs, and the financial realities of owning a private dental practice.

•The Dentist Behind the Smile: Stress, professional burnout, patient expectations, and the emotional challenges dentists rarely discuss.

•Faith, Family & Sacrifice: Building Herring Family Dental with his wife, navigating life’s challenges, and finding purpose beyond professional success.

EP. 48: “Four Dozen Later” (FEAT. UFR FAM)

Four dozen episodes later, the UFR FAM is still doing what they do best laughing, telling ridiculous stories, asking questionable questions, and somehow turning everyday life into entertainment.

Join JAYKERS, RAY, and STEPHANIE for another completely unfiltered episode of Unfit For Radio, coming to you from the 48th state: Arizona. This episode is packed with hilarious family stories, terrible dad jokes, bizarre “deep thoughts,” travel disasters, trivia, and plenty of classic UFR banter.

JAYKERS kicks things off with an unforgettable grocery store mix-up that turns a simple family dinner into an unexpected existential crisis. RAY then tells the unbelievable true story of surviving a massive Texas storm on Interstate 10 including flooded underpasses, a car being driven backward with his wife working the gas pedal, and a wedding ring that somehow manages to disappear into the chaos. And because apparently one lost wedding ring wasn’t enough, RAY manages to lose another one LIVE in the UFR studio.

The crew also goes head-to-head in “I Should Have Known That!”, putting their general knowledge to the test with questions covering everything from human anatomy and rock bands to cocktails and presidential history. Then it’s time for another round of Would You Rather, where things predictably get ridiculous.

To celebrate Episode 48, the UFR FAM also puts the spotlight on Arizona, exploring strange facts and trivia surrounding the Grand Canyon, the London Bridge in Lake Havasu, Arizona’s infamous haboobs, and the state’s unusual relationship with daylight saving time.

Add in plenty of unfiltered humor, terrible puns, dad jokes, random observations, and the kind of family banter you can only get from UFR and you’ve got another episode that is definitely unfit for radio.

EP.46: “Strings Attached” (FEAT. HUNTER RAMSTEDT)

HUNTER RAMSTEDT is back on Unfit For Radio with JAYKERS—but this time, he’s not calling in from Washington. He’s in the UFR studio, guitar in hand, ready to take over the conversation.

You may remember HUNTER from Episode 19, “Tune Talkin’,” where JAYKERS, RYAN, and HUNTER talked music, faith, creativity, songwriting, and the journey behind becoming an artist. This time, HUNTER returns for a much more personal and musical conversation.

HUNTER joins JAYKERS and RAY for an extended acoustic session covering his journey as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and live performer, what has changed since Episode 19, health scares involving his singing and vocal cords, the stories behind his music, songwriting and creativity, performing live, faith, inspiration, and everything in between.

    And yes… HUNTER ACTUALLY PLAYS.

HUNTER shares samples from his upcoming unreleased single “Leaving It In Yesterday,” talks about his musical journey and creative process, and gives listeners a glimpse into the stories and experiences behind his music. RAY also creates two original limericks specifically for HUNTER, because apparently that’s what happens when you put RAY, a microphone, and a guitarist in the same room.

JAYKERS and RAY also pull back the curtain on the people and work behind Unfit For Radio and how the podcast continues to evolve.

From original music and acoustic guitar to personal stories, faith, humor, memories, spontaneous conversation, and classic UFR moments, “Strings Attached” feels less like a structured interview and more like hanging out with three friends while the music is turned up.

HUNTER loves UFR and he’s already looking forward to coming back for Season 4 soon.

    IN THIS EPISODE:

    • HUNTER returns to UFR

    • A follow-up to Episode 19, “Tune Talkin’”

    EP.43: “THE EXCEPTION” (FEAT. CHRISTINE)

What if being late one morning changed the rest of your life?

On Episode 43 of Unfit For Radio with JAYKERS, we’re doing something a little different. For this conversation, we’re setting the jokes aside as longtime UFR guest CHRISTINE shares a deeply personal story about September 11, 2001, and the unexpected chain of events that kept her from being at the World Trade Center that morning.

Twenty-five years ago, CHRISTINE was in New York for a corporate leadership summit and was scheduled to be at the World Trade Center. But when her alarm clock failed to go off, she woke up late and never made it there.

What happened next changed her life forever.

CHRISTINE takes us back to that morning and shares what it was like experiencing the chaos from just blocks away, feeling the impact of the attacks, being evacuated from her hotel, losing communication with her family, and wondering whether she would ever make it home to her husband and four-year-old son in Phoenix.

She opens up about the years that followed, including survivor’s guilt, counseling, therapy, faith, unanswered questions, and learning to live with the reality that, no matter how much we plan, some things are simply beyond our control.

CHRISTINE also shares another deeply personal story she has never talked about before: surviving gun violence while in college. Her roommate was shot, CHRISTINE was spared, and the gunman ultimately took his own life.

This is more than a conversation about 9/11. It’s a story about life, timing, family, trauma, faith, purpose, perspective, and the seemingly small moments that can change everything.

And because this is still Unfit For Radio, we couldn’t let CHRISTINE leave without bringing a little UFR personality back into the room. RAY closes out the conversation with two original limericks written especially for CHRISTINE.

This is CHRISTINE’S story: She is “The Exception.”

    IN THIS EPISODE:

    • CHRISTINE’S firsthand experience surrounding September 11, 2001

    • How a broken alarm clock changed the course of her life

    • Being just blocks away from the World Trade Center during the attacks

    • The fear and uncertainty of not knowing if she would make it home to her family

    • Survivor’s guilt, counseling, therapy, and the years of processing what happened

    • Faith, purpose, and learning to let go of what we cannot control

    • CHRISTINE shares a story she has never talked about before about surviving gun violence in college

    • The importance of asking for help and using available resources

    • Looking back 25 years later and wondering what we’ve learned from the past

    • RAY’S original limericks for CHRISTINE, bringing a little UFR humor back to the conversation

CHRISTINE has also been featured previously in episodes 6 and 38 on our podcast.

EP.41: “Loose Screws” (FEAT. THE UFR FAM)

What happens when you put JAYKERS, RAY, and STEPH in the same room and give them absolutely no reason to behave?
    Well… you get “Loose Screws.”

Episode 41 brings the UFR family back together for another completely unscripted episode filled with stories, jokes, ridiculous conversations, friendly competition, and plenty of moments that probably sounded better in the studio than they do on paper.

JAYKERS is joined by RAY and the return of one of the most requested members of the UFR family, STEPH. With all three together, there’s no shortage of opinions, unexpected reactions, and the kind of back-and-forth that has become a big part of the Unfit For Radio experience.

The crew puts each other to the test with some of UFR’s favorite games, including Would You Rather, Two Truths and a Lie, and I Should’ve Known That. Some answers make sense. Some absolutely do not. And a few may leave you wondering.

From the opening chicken-and-egg experiment joke to the final goodbye, Episode 41 is exactly what the title promises—a few loose screws, a lot of laughs, and the UFR family doing what they do best.

No script. No perfect answers. No shortage of original nonsense.

Just JAYKERS, RAY, STEPH, and another episode of Unfit For Radio.

It’s Episode 41. Loose Screws. And sometimes, the best episodes are the ones where nobody has all the screws tightened.

    IN THIS EPISODE:
    • JAYKERS, RAY & STEPH reunite in the studio
    • RAY re-shares the original limerick he created for himself and JAYKERS, then debuts STEPH’s original limerick for the first time on air
    • STEPH shares fascinating details only a true fan would know about Wheel of Fortune with Vanna White and Ryan Seacrest
    • Would You Rather
    • Two Truths and a Lie
    • I Should’ve Known That — UFR style, with points
    • Friendly competition and questionable answers
    • UFR family chemistry and behind-the-scenes moments that made it to air
    • Another completely unscripted Unfit For Radio episode
