As we have moved past the overviews of the Buddhist teachings concerning Awareness and Acceptance; we now move into the category of Appreciation.
To this point we have discussed:
Awareness - right view and right intention
Acceptance - right speech, right action, and right livelihood
As we move forward through the eightfold path, we now get into the concept of Appreciation and that entails right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.

In today's constantly changing work environment, we are looking for more meaning and connection. Especially in a post covid world with the advents of the "great resignation," how can we get our people in our workforce to see meaning and connection to the work they do?
Millions have left the workforce in areas such as restaurants, hospitality, retail, and others. They are craving connection, workalike meaning, and flexibility. Those in the workforce that can provide this for them, are going to wind up staying in business in the end. Those that cannot, will struggle to survive.
Join me and special guest William Schirmer as we discuss these current and relevant challenges at work. William is an HR and Talent Management Executive as well as the author of two books:

When we bring all aspects of our being and purpose into what we do for a living - we are helping create our reason for being as a "lifestyle." It becomes who we are and what we do. Inside and outside of work. It becomes difficult for others to see you any other way.
This is what is meant by practicing right livelihood as a lifestyle.

How much of you is defined by "what you do for a living?"
In today's daily message, we are going to rewire our programming to know and understand that what you are is greater than or equal to what you do.
I am = I do

Does work always have to be "just about work?" What if you can bring more meaning into it doing it not just to serve an end to a means?
That is what work is for me - it's about continual improvement and always bringing that improvement into the lives of others that I impact.
This is why work never finishes!

WHEN THE BUDDHA SPOKE OF RIGHT LIVELIHOOD HE WAS SPEAKING MORE ABOUT RIGHT LIVING, not necessarily about "livelihood" or work, as we would think of livelihood.

There are ten vows, referred to as the Ten Non-Virtues or The Freedom Vows. They are referred to as "Freedom Vows" because the Buddha taught how to achieve a state of peace in life in the most expeditious way—in other words, how to make every day better. What works? What will you do? What will work for most everyone that, if practiced, will free them from illusion, attachment, and the resulting dissatisfaction? The ten vows are grouped by the three gateways (body, speech, and mind). Of the ten, three are related to the body, three are related to the mind, and four are related to speech.
In today's daily episode, we discuss these "Freedom Vows" and how they can impact our lives for the better.
