UNinFORMED Anime

The gangs all here for a trip into bad accents and 1920's prohibition! Our first ever first episode from the random number generator creates some discussion about the rules of the show, Curtis ruins accents, and Shane takes a deep dive into symbolic naming schemas in this action-packed series about mobsters.

Series: 91 DaysEpisode: 1

Pssst, next week is a My Hero Academia episode!

Shane's back to talk the only anime that matters, Dragon Ball! Curtis and Shane both went to see the new Broly movie in theaters, so let's hear what they think! No spoilers for about 20-ish minutes, then we get heavy into plot details. Don't worry! There's a warning sound!

Series: Dragon Ball SuperMovie: Broly

Racial stereotypes abound in a tournament? Why, it must be wrestling! Curtis and Ryan tackle Kinnikuman, the 1983 anime with a Nazi. Yup, looked it up after we recorded and that dude is definitely a Nazi. Includes a special appearance by Curtis' cat, Frank.

Series: Kinnikuman 83Episode: 38

Apologies for any audio issues, had to play with this one a bit to remove some echoing.

We're back! Curtis and Ryan begin a new year (season?) of UNinFORMED Anime with Pop Team Epic, a show about two little girls? Maybe? We're still not really sure. With Shane stuck in a Dokkan Battle hole, the guys spend a little time talking about the nonsense of the show before shooting the shit. Thanks for listening!

Series: Pop Team EpicEpisode: 4 SWGP 2018

Shane and Curtis tackle the pop culture of December 2018 in this end of the year special. We've got Captain Marvel, Gundam, LGBTQ representation in anime, Netflix, My Hero, She-ra, Lord of the Rings, and more!

Programming note: UNinFORMED Anime will be taking a short end of year hiatus after this episode due to the holiday season and ever changing schedules. We will return in January of 2019 for more Anime fun with our next episode, 91 Days episode 1. And please, give us some feedback! Did you hate this? Let us know!

Ping! Pong! Ping! Pong! Smack that ball back and forth until one person overzealously smashes the ball at an impossible speed and ruins the game for everybody. The guys tackle Ping Pong the Animation, a fun anime following the rise (and fall???) of a high school pingpong master. Maybe. Lots of potpourri this episode, actual anime talk starts about 20 minutes in for those that don't want to listen to us rant about Dragonball Super manga vs anime.

Series: Ping Pong the AnimationEpisode: 3

It's a race against time itself as the guys go back in time to try and change the past. At least, that's what they think happens in Erased, an anime that's a serious day in the life show until about halfway through. Also a big discussion on media and literary critique. This show's totem would be a Gunpla.

Series: ErasedEpisode: 8

Let's get down to business, to defeat pervy guys! Did they send me boxers, when I asked, for giant fighting robots?

The guys tackle Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, their first sequel series and take on antiquated sexual mores that make them pretty uncomfortable. Oh, and lots of ancillary talk this week too.

Series: Hajime no Ippo: New ChallengerEpisode: 13

A dub??? That's right! Shane and Ryan tackle Planetes, an anime that was so difficult to find online that they could only find the dub. Bets on if they talk about Gundam this week?

Series: PlanetesEpisode: 7

Melodrama and mecha, what more could you ask for. Sunrise present this... hey, wait a minute... That kind of sounds like Gundam. The guys tackle Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion but end up segueing into Gundam talk. Are you really surprised at this point?

Series: Code Geass: Lelouch of the RebellionEpisode: 19 (Island of the Gods)
