Seven Minutes Beyond Death: John J. Davis’ Journey to the Other Side

At 21 years old, John J. Davis suffered a serious moped accident that required surgery to repair torn tendons in his hand. During the operation, John experienced a severe allergic reaction to the anesthesia and was clinically dead for seven minutes.

John says those seven minutes became a vivid and detailed journey through the other side—a place of indescribable peace, love, and clarity. During the experience, he believes he was given an assignment to return and share a powerful message: there is no death.

In this live episode of ParaTruth: Reborn, John joins Justin and Erik to discuss what he encountered, how the experience transformed his Catholic upbringing, why his understanding of faith became more personal, and what he believes awaits us beyond physical life.

Some truths are hidden in the dark. We’re here to bring them to light.

Guest Bio: John J. Davis was born and raised in San Jose, California, where his early life was shaped by strong family values and regular attendance at the local Catholic church—sometimes two to three times a week. His upbringing instilled in him a deep spiritual foundation, one that would later be transformed in a profound and unexpected way.

At the age of 21, John’s life took a dramatic turn following a serious moped accident. The crash resulted in torn tendons in his hand, requiring surgical repair. During the operation, John experienced a severe allergic reaction to the anesthesia and was clinically dead for seven minutes. It was during those seven minutes that John had an extraordinary and life-altering near-death experience (NDE).

According to John, what he encountered was not just a fleeting vision or abstract sensation, but a vivid, detailed journey—a tour of the other side. He describes it as a place of indescribable peace, love, and clarity. During this experience, John was given what he now sees as a divine assignment: to return and share what he had seen, to tell others that there is no such thing as death. He came to understand that our physical bodies may perish, but our souls continue on eternally.

John eventually moved to Colorado, where he continues to reflect on and speak about his experience. Though he still believes deeply in God’s love and the teachings of Jesus, his faith has taken a more personal and spiritual path, one less bound by traditional Catholic doctrine. He honors the essence of Christ’s message while stepping away from some of the dogma he once accepted without question.

Today, John Davis lives with a sense of purpose rooted in his near-death experience. He shares his story to provide hope to others, offer reassurance about what lies beyond, and to spread the simple, powerful message he was given: There is no death. Beyond The Outer Realm welcomes back special Guest Author, Academic, Archeologist Mark Olly

Date: July 28th, 2026

EP: 750

DISCUSSION: LOST to HISTORY: Rome's Missing Legion. We will be revisiting a popular Outer Realm Segment from the “way back file” Mark's book "The Disappearing Ninth Legion: A Popular History." This has been a topic of lore, books, and films for ages, but what really happened? Mark draws on actual historical and up to date archeological information of the real legion. Were they broken up and reassigned or do they still march the moorlands and streets of ancient Britain as a lot ghostly cursed army?

Contact for the show -

https://linktr.ee/michelledesrochers_

About Mark:

Mark Olly was born in 1962 in Warrington, England, and educated at Appleton Hall County Grammar School, Warrington College of Art & Design, the University of Liverpool Institute of Extension Studies field archaeology unit, various business schools, and El-Shaddai College of Advanced Ministry U.K. Manchester where he obtained a Certificate of Ministry (Ct.Min.AP) and Diploma of Biblical Studies (Dip.BS.AP).

For over 22 years he worked as a professional musician, live DJ, compare, and in music management, founding Angelharp Music, Unicorn Entertainments Agency Ltd. and Legendthink Ltd. (one of the first ‘multi-media’ companies in the world) before moving on to pursue a solo career as a writer, archaeologist and television presenter. This career has so far taken him to all parts of the UK, France, Egypt, Norway, Italy, Bulgaria, Cyprus, South America, Turkey, Malta, and North Africa in search of the ancient and the mysterious.

His hobbies include collecting antiques and geological specimens, Dark Age, Celtic and Medieval costumed re-enactment, staging occasional exhibitions and live events, public speaking, and investigating ancient sites.

He has six major books in print, appeared on Carlton Television’s ‘The History Detectives’, wrote and presented all three seasons (22 episodes) of ITV Granada’s award nominated ‘Lost Treasures’ adventure archaeology series, has presented for Sky History Channel, writes, presents and directs DVD’s for US media giant Reality Entertainments / Reality Films, wrote and directed four Music Videos for International US band Hayseed Dixie and three for Sacred Wind’s 2014/15 Christmas charity single, occasionally appears in movies, and recently played sessions with bands Soul Path, Sacred Wind, Metall Hose, Atakarma Giants, Wolf and Copperworm.

He is visiting lecturer at Wilsmlow Guild and the University Of Chester, an exam invigilator, occasionally heads up his own archaeological unit, and runs his own DVD production and props company MythCo.

About The Book:

The Disappearing Ninth Legion puts this mysterious Roman legion firmly back on the historic map. A great deal of fiction and conjecture has appeared in books, films, and on the internet, but this book draws on actual historical and up-to-date archaeological information to paint a picture of the real legion as it was, its development, expansion, structure, assignments under the Caesars and the Roman Empire, its supposed disappearance from York, then further evidence for its survival in Europe, the East, and possibly even China, as the mighty world of the Romans gradually fell apart. Was the legion simply broken up and re-assigned or do they still march the moorlands and streets of Eastern Britain, a lost ghostly army cursed and vanquished by the Druids and Celts? It's all here written and presented in an easy and non-technical way by one of Britain's best up-and-coming story tellers and presenters.
