It’s fitting that this morning marks the beginning of Holy Week, the week leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. So, as we look further into this parable this morning, I want to break it down into four parts in an effort to get to the truth of what makes our lives truly matter and how we must change our focus and make Jesus our priority.

This morning, as we look deeper at this parable, let me use an outline which breaks the parable into four parts, thus helping us to discover Jesus’ expectations on us, His followers, while we patiently await His return.

That’s why this morning, as we look at this section of the text, Luke 13:1-9, I want you to see that disasters are often a call to repentance. They should remind you of your need to confess your sins and turn to Jesus for salvation, or to renew your commitment to Him.
