This morning, as we look at the text, I want you to recognize the witnesses of Jesus the Christ, and through their testimony, it is my prayer that you would believe them and put your full faith and trust in Him.

Therefore, this morning, as we look at 1 John 5:1-5, I want you to understand just what it means to love God. John tells us what we must do if we want to keep this great commandment. You see, Loving God has more to do with obeying Him than anything else. That’s why this morning I want to give you three areas of our lives in which this obedience must be exhibited.

God perfects His love in us by us loving one another. As we abide in God and His love is perfected in us, we will then bear bold witness of the love of God to the world. So let’s dig deeper this morning into Love Perfected and to what that means.

Well, this morning, I want to dive into the text and get to the truth of what John is telling us when he says to test the spirits.

This morning, in our text, 1 John 3:18-24, three wonderful blessings are promised to those that continue believing in Jesus and loving one another. Knowing these blessings will help you to have an assured heart and to know that you truly are a child of God.

This morning we’re going to look at the command given to us here in 1 John 3, to love one another and then explore what that really means.

Now John will tell us today that you are either consistent and consecrated or you are inconsistent and sinful. That is why this morning I want to look at what this means in some detail so you may know for sure as to what side of the coin you find yourself, consistent or inconsistent, consecrated or sinful.

This morning, based on our text, let me point out to you the three things that John wants to reinforce to you, his readers, in order that you will go through this life with your eyes clearly open so that you will beware of the world.
