Here, the Bible gives us solid answers on how a church can harness God’s power in order to become a contagious congregation, like Antioch. So let’s look at those answers.

The book of Hebrews also closes with not one, but two benedictions and that’s what we will finish up with this morning as we’ve come to the end of our faith in action study. You see, the author asks the blessings of God upon his readers. As we look at this prayer, we find that the author focuses his prayer God-ward. In reality, all prayer must focus on God, who He is, and what he’s done for us, and what he’s doing in us. Who is this God to whom we are to pray? As we examine this prayer of benediction, we discover several truths about God.

So how do you do that? What does that look like in real life? How should you respond to the leadership God has placed in your life so that it will benefit you? Well, as we study Hebrews 13:7-19, I want you to see what it means to follow the leader.

This morning, we’re looking at Hebrews 13. We’ve hit the home stretch as it were as we are coming close to the end of the letter to the Hebrews. But as we consider who Jesus is, and who He’s calling us to be, this morning, we’re going to look at the first 6 verses of Hebrews 13 in order to see what the writer is calling for us to do, and not to do, as we seek to become more like Jesus by living a life of sacrifice.

This morning, in our text, I want you to be able to recognize the truth behind the Father’s discipline. Discipline is not necessarily punishment for wrongdoing, but it’s often training through persecution. In order to understand the father’s discipline, I want to explore a pair of questions this morning.

Today, we are to continue in the race that God has marked out for us. His words encourage us to keep on running the race. His counsel is certainly applicable for us today when so many, it seems, are turning away from the faith. This morning, let me give you three things you must do if you are to endure the race of life.

This morning, as we investigate the faith of Moses, I want you to discover something of the power of faith in your life and how true leadership requires faith.

Nevertheless, this morning, as we look at Hebrews 11:8-22, we will find that the writer cites the life of Abraham as an example of a life of faith. And, as we examine the faith of Abraham, it is my hope that you will discover how faith can relate to you a well.
