As we look at these experiences in today’s message entitled, “From Joy to Bitterness and Back Again,” there are five principles that you need to understand and be prepared for in order to not allow the problems that you face in life to produce bitterness in your heart.

You see, God was in control, but the people found themselves between a rock and a hard place. This morning, when you find yourself in a similar position, you need to remember four things about God’s plan in order to give you the confidence to follow it.

Church, the Day of Judgment approaches, and you need to be prepared. This is why this morning I want you to see four things about the judgment of God.

This morning, we’re going to examine the consequences of a hard heart. You see, the next few chapters, Exodus 7-10, demonstrate the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart and God’s deliverance of his people.

This morning, as we examine what it means that “God is the God of the Second Chance,” I want you to understand four things about God's call on your life.

This morning, I want you to learn, in the school of the desert you find yourself in, three things about God that should help encourage you to learn from your situation and be comforted to know that God is with you and for you, even in the midst of everything that is taking place in your life.

So by this point, you’re probably wondering how long this message is going to be since we still have yet to get to the first point, but don’t fear. You see, this morning, I want to share with you four things about failure and the danger of getting ahead of God. I know your notes only have three, but I added a fourth one this morning so save room.
