How we think and how we feel in any moment or day powerfully shapes and shifts our lives, for better or for worse. Often what dominates our consciousness is our experience of life in that moment. How am I feeling? How am I being treated? What do I desire? What do I crave? What do I feel I desperately need and still lack? What do I think we truly satisfy me? What do I dread? What am I afraid of? How do I know the right decision to make? What will happen if I do/don’t do this thing? Does this dialog sound familiar?
Psychologists may use the word agency to describe your awareness of you. It is your capacity to possess sense and reason, to have desires, to make choices and pursue a certain course, and encompasses your interactions with other people in daily life. The field of psychology as a science looks at observable behaviors and mental processes, and believes the soul to be a metaphorical or philosophical construct. God however, who gives life and breath, knows all. He knows that He crafted each human with a soul, which for a season is housed in our physical bodies, but which will exist into eternity. In fact in Ecclesates 3:11 it says that God has placed eternity in the hearts of men. Our souls will live forever.
Amid the plethora of philosophies offered in the world, there is only one way for us to experience true, deep, lasting transformation of mind and heart. Join us for a thoughtful discussion about this today.
