In this guided meditation, you're going to meet your inner child. The version of you that was wounded. The little one who's been waiting your whole life for you to come back.
You're going to see them. Really see them. Look into their eyes. Notice how they look, what they're wearing, where they are.
You're going to hear them. They may have something to say to you. Or they may just need you to listen.
And you're going to hold them. Or sit with them. Or just be present with them in whatever way feels right.
This is the beginning of reparenting. This is where you start to give them what they needed but never got.
Now, I want to prepare you: emotions are going to come up. You might cry. You might feel anger. You might feel grief or sadness or even joy. All of this is welcome. All of this is part of the healing.
If you feel nothing, that's okay too. Sometimes the first time we do this, we're so protected that we can't feel yet. That's fine. You can do this meditation again. The more you do it, the more you'll feel.
There's no right or wrong way to do this. Trust your experience. Trust what you see, hear, and feel.
And if at any point it becomes too intense—if trauma comes up that feels overwhelming—you can pause. You can open your eyes. You can stop. And if needed, please work with a therapist for additional support.
But for most of you, this is going to be powerful, emotional, and healing.
You're safe. I'm here with you. Let's begin.
