Most people don't map out a path from fast food to owning a holding company. I certainly didn't.

In this first episode, I share my own story - the unexpected detour that kept me in the service industry longer than I planned, the 2008 financial crisis that somehow became my opening, and the series of bets that grew from a single four-family building in Milwaukee into a group of companies spanning property management, construction, and facilities services.

None of it was part of a plan. A lot of it came down to luck. But luck has a short shelf life if you don't know what to do with it - and that's really what this episode is about.
