This is the first episode of year two of Unmasked! Thank you so much for coming on this journey with me over the past 12 months and welcome to all the new listeners (and now viewers).
This week marks the 3rd anniversary of God taking a 2x4 to the side of my head in the form of a prostitute who blackmailed me and then exposed my secret life to my wife Amy. That set off a wild chain of events that ultimately led me to confess my sins to God, and to Amy, and getting healed and saved by Jesus.
So it’s only appropriate that I bring back my favorite guest of all time to join me this week – my wife Amy - to talk about that faithful night in March 2020 and how it changed our marriage.

This week, we are talking with author, podcaster and future media empire giant Christy Neal. Christy appeared on Unmasked last fall to talk about her book, "Don't Ever Tell."
As we close out the first year of the UNMASKED podcast, I asked Christy to come back on and talk about surviving and thriving in marriage after adultery. Both Christy and I engaged in extramarital affairs that hurt many people that we care about – but that doesn’t have to be a death sentence for your marriage.
It starts with putting your faith and trust in Jesus – he can bring the healing.

It's Valentine's Week and if I am being honest, I don't like this holiday. It's a made up day to remind us to love our spouses and buy them stuff they don't really need. Shouldn't we love and respect our spouses every single day of the year and treat them like the daughters and sons of God that they are?
Today's episode features Curt and Brook Vignery. Curt is a Pastor at The Rock of KC and together, Curt and Brook lead marriage ministry outreach for the church. Curt was instrumental in guiding me at the start of my faith journey - even before I knew Jesus was going to save me. And Brook supported Amy during the darkest days of our marriage. We talk about some practical ways for couples to keep that love burning beyond Valentine's Day – and it starts with having God at the center of the relationship.

As I mention in the podcast, a video version of this episode will be coming shortly so be sure to check back!
We have officially entered the month of February. Of course, that means Valentine's Day is coming up soon and this seems like the one time a year we talk about sex, love, relationships. Frankly, I don’t think we as Christians do a good job talking about what healthy intimacy looks like in a marriage often enough. So let's change that this month. Today, I am joined by Miracle Sims, host of the God, Sex and Love podcast. We talk about her journey and what led her to starting a podcast and business that is focused on sex - from a Christian point of view.

This week's episode focuses on forgiveness and Psalm 51. David asks God for forgiveness and comes to him with a broken heart. Today, I'm reaching out to some people who don't know the new Neil asking for forgiveness.

Today, we’re unmasking the journey of Paul Ahnert and the Metal Mission of Knoxville, TN. Paul started his ministry after visiting a punk rock flea market and wondering who was serving the “fringe” members of his community. Inspired by the woman who touched the fringe of Jesus’ garment for healing, Paul set his sights on using the Metal Mission to help people see the transforming power of the Gospel.

Happy New Year! We kick off 2023 talking to Kansas City filmmaker Anita Cordell. Anita is founder of the I Will Rise Project. I Will Rise is a movement to encourage all of us to rise up through films that educate about social issues like trafficking, homelessness, child abuse, marital abuse and more.
Anita is also director of the award winning documentary, I Will Rise. The movie tells the story of Christine McDonald and how she was able to escape a life filled being sex trafficked – and how organizations like Stop Trafficking Project, Human Trafficking Training Center, Relentless Pursuit, Outreach Recovery are coming together to help save other women trapped in that life. We talk about how this movie came about and what it was like to make a long form documentary. It will be available for streaming on Amazon and other platforms later this month.

The last episode of 2022! Thanks to all of you for faithfully listening this year. I'm excited for where God is going to lead us next year. I'm trying something new today that I hope to do more of in 2023 - a devotional.
Today, I'm focused on Ephesians 5:15-17. “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
God wants us to be good stewards of the precious resource of time he has given us. But as I reflected on my time in 2022, I wasted 60 full days of time on my smartphone and in front of the TV.
We always ask God for more time. Well, no more excuses. We've got plenty of time. What are we going to do with it in 2023? Walk wise or be foolish?
Be sure to check out https://neilgetzlow.com/ to learn more about me and my journey. I encourage you to send me email from the website and let me know what you are going to be working on in 2023.
