Unmasked With Neil Getzlow

This week, we are unmasking the journey of Dr. Rob Anthony. God continues to put such encouraging people in my path on this journey I'm on and Rob is certainly no exception. He recently published his first book, Finite Obstacles Infinite Truth. This book is made up of 31 different life lessons that Rob uses to demonstrate God's infinite truth is still an answer to every question or trial we have. Rob and I also talk about overcoming idols, divorce and his recovery from cancer. And he convicted me by talking about how he answered God's call to become a writer. This week also marks two years since I gave my life over to Jesus. And it’s been an incredible two years – I sort of equate it to running a marathon. This anniversary has inspired me to write again so I put together a blog for the occasion.

This week, we are unmasking the journey of Lee Gibson and Candice Spangler from Relentless Pursuit Outreach and Recovery. This is an organization based in Kansas City that’s made up of former military Special Operation, Intelligence Community professionals, Law Enforcement, Social Service workers, legal professionals, sex trafficking victims, business owners and Church leaders. They are all working together to rescue women from sex trafficking and bring consequences to the buyers and sellers creating the demand. This week’s episode is a great reminder that the “trials” we feel like we are going through are truly light when compared to what others are experiencing. Daisy Paige is the author of “Unexpected Moments.” This book chronicles the many emotional, spiritual and physical trials that Daisy has experienced in her life. Today, she’s battling a rare disease - Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) – that affects her brain and is leaving her to quickly face her own mortality. But by following God, and with a little encouragement from Kirk Cameron (yes, that Kirk Cameron), Daisy is bravely telling her story while she still can.

I’m always so amazed at who God brings in to my life to bring encouragement. This week, He brought Damon Covert, founder of Principle 8 ministry, to the Unmasked podcast. Damon and I have both overcome pornography addictions thanks to the power of Jesus. Damon shares how he was able to move past his addiction and how he’s lifting up others through Principle 8.

Football season is almost back! And that means sports gambling is going to start to fire up again. For some people, the excitement and thrill of gambling on their favorite teams leads to addiction and broken bank accounts. Today, we talk with recovering gambling addict Patrick Chester. He spent 15 years as a raging gambling addict, lost millions and nearly destroyed his family. Patrick resorted to criminal acts to feed his addiction, ultimately ending up in jail. Today, he’s seven years free of that addiction and talking about the dangers of sports gambling.
