Jimmie has been “preaching the gospel and playing the blues” ministering in churches and non-church venues as bars, clubs, music festivals, motorcycle rallies and prisons in the United States and United Kingdom since 2000. He shares how his love for rock n’ roll and drugs destroyed his marriage. But it was through a love of Jesus that brought him back to his wife and helped him find his daughter.

On this week’s episode, I talk with Randal and Tracy Dowdy, authors of Beyond Impossible: How a Divine Visitation Brought New Life to a Marriage. Randal and Tracy are living examples of the goodness of God, both individually and as a couple. After experiencing a supernatural encounter with God and seeing His restorative hand at work in undeniable ways, they now carry a mandate to reach those in the brokenness they were freed from. There are so many similarities between the Dowdy’s story and that of Amy and me. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did.

As producer of The Border Patrol on 810 WHB, Jake Gutierrez was the engine behind one of the most popular sports radio shows in Kansas City. Even though he was behind the scenes most days, Jake was a key contributor to the show’s success. He was living a life that I had dreamed about as a kid – having a front row seat to the action and talk of Kansas City’s biggest sporting events. But after 20 years on air and battling alcoholism, depression, and diabetes, Jake abruptly walked away from the industry earlier this year to go to Colorado and chart a path that God laid out for him. That path includes finishing a book to help people overcome life’s obstacles and find their innermost Self through living a principled life.

Today, I had the honor to talk to author Joel Carroll. As a young man, Joel faced many adversities while struggling through a brutal nineteen-year war with drug and alcohol addiction, all the while suffering from anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Over those years, he was kidnapped, dodged a disturbing death on multiple occasions, suffered a minor stroke due to head trauma, and survived the internal warfare that almost ended with Joel taking his own life. Through God’s grace Joel proves recovery from addiction is 100% possible.

On this week’s show, I am honored to unmask the journey of another incredible couple from my church – Samantha and Dustin Drake. After serving in the military and doing multiple tours of duty during the Iraq war, Dustin came back to civilian life to deal with his struggles with addictions and sexual sin. Thanks to the forgiveness and patience of his wife Samantha, they were able to overcome Dustin’s addictions and now provide military families and First Responders a way to deal with trauma through their Kansas City chapter of the Reboot Recovery ministry.

We need you to share this episode far and wide. This week, we are joined by Russ Tuttle, president and founder of The Stop Trafficking Project. Russ is using his strengths of communication and compassion to end domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST) before it begins by disrupting the exploitation of vulnerability.
During 1st quarter of 2022, Russ surveyed 1,600 students (6th grade to 12th grade). What he found is shocking. 30% of students reported that they have either shared nude pictures with a stranger they met or online or actually went to meet someone they only new from online encounters.
On this episode, Russ talks about the important work his organization is doing to combat child sex trafficking before it begins.
