We are back baby, BACK! Season two is upon us and we open by talking about The Bodyguard (not to be confused as the 1992 movie) by Katherine Center. The Bodyguard was a quickie read, a bit of romance, a bit of humor, and a bit about self love- all tied up in a pretty bow. This episode contains spoliers, and if you haven't read this book yet, we highly recommend! The book description is below:

Calling all true crime lovers, this one is for you. Jackie and Jessie each cover a local serial douche canoe  case from the past.

Jackie covers Craig Price 

Craig was the YOUNGEST serial killer in the united states with his first murder taking place at the ripe old age of 13.

He murdered 4 people. Two moms (Rebecca Spencer, and Joan Heaton )and two children(Jennifer and Melissa Heaton). The second set of murders happened one  mile from Jackie's house at the time.

Jessie covers Tony Costa

A man of many names; The Cape Cod Cassanova, The Cape Cod Cannibal, The Cape Cod Vampire, Tony Chop chop, America's Own Jack the Ripper, and finally choice cuts (a name given to him in prison). But ultimately this fake ass hippie projecting passivity, love, and peace was a sexual deviant psychopath. He committed at least 4 murders. The women found buried in "his garden" were Patricia Walsh, Mary Ann Wysocki, Susan Perry, and Sydney Monzon. Tony was connected to at least three more women disappearing, they were Diane Federoff, Bonnie Williams, and Barbara Spaulding. It is believed that he committed at least 8 murders over a 3 year span, and that there is a list of crimes on the West Coast that may be linked to him as well. 

Fuck you Craig and Tony.

Jackie and Jessie both rate this book a 9/10. It was captivating from the start and a super quick read. Lisa Jewell reigns supreme as a thriller author, and her storytelling is near flawless. 

Jessie quickly followed up None of this is true with some of Lisa Jewell's other books: The Family Upstairs, The Family Remains, and The Night She Disappeared. All fantastic reads that she highly recommends.
