Transcript: Unquenchable Podcast: Season 2 EP 0: Intro and Overview of Season 2
[00:00:00] Don Love: Welcome to season two of Unquenchable equipping and inspiring you and your church to discover prayer practices that renew hearts and minds.
[00:00:08] A lot has happened since last season among other things Pray Through It is now a 501(C)3 nonprofit. And along with that comes more retreats and trainings. And we've now started a Prayer Leader Collective online and in person where listening and inner healing, prayer leaders meet monthly to learn from notable inner healing and deliverance ministers.
[00:00:28] And now we're gearing up to launch our own residential and Online Prayer School.
[00:00:33] My name's Don Love, and I'm here today with my bride of almost 20 years and my ministry partner, Jennifer Love to give you a sneak peek into season two of unquenchable.
    [00:00:43] Jennifer Love: Hello
[00:00:44] Don Love: if you listened to last season, you know that Jen and I are listening and inner healing, prayer leaders who came out of a conservative Christian background that didn't really talk about the listening side of prayer, let alone inner healing or deliverance. Although we had both been trained in biblically-grounded [00:01:00] universities and seminaries that spoke about the role of the holy spirit in a theological way. We were taught very little about the practical side of his role and the role that listening and inner healing prayer can play in our Christian lives.
[00:01:14] Jennifer Love: Last season's focus was on how our paradigm shifted as our lives and the lives of those. We prayed through things with experience, deep inner healing and intimacy with Christ through prayer. And we will never be the same. It's revolutionized the way that we view what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus and how we've gone about to minister, to others.
[00:01:31] Don Love: All that was happening was very much in line with the stories and teachings of scripture. What one might expect if they took the Bible. Several times a week, we would see people experienced breakthrough that they thought would never come, through prayer. And the college students we were praying with were going out right after their prayer sessions with little or no training and we're seeing similar breakthroughs with their friends and relatives as they lead them in similar ways. It was almost as though their realization [00:02:00] that a sustained and expectant two-way conversation with God was all that was needed for them to pray through things with others.
[00:02:08] Jennifer Love: Back then, we hadn't really heard about other prayer approaches that were coming out of other denominations. Some that you may have heard of like Emmanuel Prayer, Theophostic Prayer Transformation Prayer, Christian Healing Ministries, Restoring the Foundations, SOZO, HeartSync. There's many of them out there! We hadn't heard of them. And so we were under the impression that listening and inner-healing prayer is not something that really requires training. It's something that anybody can do and they should do. And so we were kind of hesitant to study these approaches because it seemed as though they were imposing an unnecessary structure on prayer. But in hindsight, much of what was coming naturally to us was very much a part of the things that God was already doing in these various schools of prayer that we're spanning across every denomination. And as we would learn later, unknowingly, our approach was influenced by leaders from some of those approaches we didn't yet know about.
[00:02:56] Don Love: But as we began more formerly discipling prayer leaders for our own team,

  • S1 Ep. 20: Ministering to Pastors (Part II)
In episode 19, we shared how a single short demonstration of listening in prayer resulted in breakthrough for one pastor in issues causing him fear and anxiety. This demonstration led to a string of conferences where we led each church to hone their skills in listening and inner-healing prayer. In this episode, two pastors share about their experiences praying through things and we end out our season with Don leading us in listening prayer.

  • S1 Ep. 19: Ministering to Pastors (Part I)
When Don is invited into the Word and Spirit Pastor's Conference, he is given five minutes to demonstrate corporate listening and inner-healing prayer. Within 3 minutes one pastor begins weeping because of how the Lord is ministering to him through prayer. In this episode, this pastor shares about how this 5-10 minute prayer session was one of the most pivotal moments of his spiritual life where he noticed, "A remarkable difference, a remarkable change in trajectory and a freedom." Now, almost 3 years later, this pastor describes how he continues to experience freedom from the fear and worry of spiritual things and a spiritual anxiety rooted back to his Native American grandmother. And he shares his surprise of how what transpired was so quick and simple as Don helped him to pray through it.

  • S1 Ep. 17: The Real Deal & God’s Love: Rumblings in the Dorms
In this episode, Don meets with Curtis, a Sophomore who heard “rumblings on the dorm” concerning what was happening in Don's classes and in our Tower Prayer Meetings. Curtis’ relationship with his father led him to a strained relationship with the Lord, but when a friend from Don’s Biblical Theology said that what was happening was “the real deal,” Curtis sought Don out in order to pray through the things that were getting in the way of experiencing intimacy with Christ. As Curtis experienced inner-healing through prayer, he found himself struggling to understand if what was going on was truly biblical and for today. Today, Curtis explained how he processed what happened and why he joined our Pray Through It Prayer Team.

  • S1 Ep. 16: God’s Protection and The Dean’s Office
Don and Jen recount what happened when things came to a head when they were called into the Dean's office to describe what it was that they were doing in their prayer meetings. In the process, Don shares a testimony of a Squishy Tree to test if the Deans were really open to what was happening on campus through prayer.

  • S1 Ep. 15: Mocking the Professor: Freedom from Religion
The student we are interviewing today was not a believer at the time. And at first, he sat in the front row mocking Don as he led the class in prayer. That is, until he began to understand what he was seeing. Perhaps there was something more to Christianity than what he experienced growing up as a child physically and verbally abused at the hands of his father (who was a well-respected Deacon at their church)? After the suicide of a friend from bootcamp, this Marine considered the possibility that he might experience what he saw happening in the lives of other students during the class prayer sessions. By the end of the semester, this student would give his life to Christ, experience freedom from the literal and figurative demons in his life, and share his testimony in front of the entire class as he was baptized in the pond on campus. This testimony demonstrates that even those who do not yet know Christ can benefit from listening in prayer. In fact, they might just accept them as their Lord and Savior in the process.

  • S1 Ep. 14: An “Insane” Bible Class: Forgiving an Alcoholic Parent
This episode continues to explore what happened when Don stepped out and began leading his New Testament Survey class of 500 students on a conservative evangelical campus to listen in prayer. This student shares his experience with Don for the first time, recounting  how he went from thinking that the things that were happening in class were "Insane" to realizing that what was happening may hold the key to overcoming the childhood trauma that he experienced as he watched his mother time and time again choose alcohol over family. As he cried out to God, he discovered that God was listening and that with his help he could finally be released from the suffering of his past and of his own unforgiveness.

  • S1 Ep. 12: Biblical Theology Gets Real: From Self-Hatred to Love
After surrendering his career to Christ, Don waited for God's leading on when to begin leading his classes in listening and inner-healing prayer. In this episode, Don shares about the first class where he led his students in corporate listening prayer - an upper-level Biblical Theology class filled with campus leaders. One of those students shares her testimony concerning how she was freed to love others when she was able to be released from her own self-hatred.
