Unquenchable: Biblical Theology, Listening Prayer, and Christian Living episodes

  • S1 Ep. 10: Q&A from NC Venture Out
In this Episode Don, Jen, and their Pray Through It team answer questions during their Lexington North Carolina Venture Out Retreat. Questions include:
How can we know if we or the person we are praying with has experienced real and lasting spiritual breakthrough through prayer?
If the person we are praying with is not getting any imagery, should we share what we are seeing with them?
What about people who don’t see in pictures?
Regardless of your background this episode will help you to get to know our team on a bit of a personal level as you hear us let our hair down (so to speak) and discuss the mysteries of prayer.
If you are so new to listening and inner-healing prayer that you are still struggling to get your mind around what it looks like for someone to even see, hear, or sense something from God in prayer, head over to our website www.praythroughit.com/media and watch one of our sample prayer sessions. This will help you to better conceptualize what it means for someone to pray through something.

He finally cried out to God and was led to pray through things with Dr. Love. Through two prayer sessions, Jesus is put into His proper place and her years of counseling suddenly make sense. Once she discovers that she has the power to crumble the shell of these old relationships and that, with Jesus’ help, she can let go of her unhealthy reliance on her mother, and is now free to live and walk with Jesus like never before.

  • S1 Ep. 4: Praying Through an Eating Disorder (Part 1)
In this episode, Don and Jen discuss how all too often there is a “question behind the question” that never gets addressed. In Madison’s case, a question about the Holy Spirit turns out to be more of a question concerning whether the size of her body determines if she is worthy to be loved.

  • S1 Ep. 3: Don’s Experiment with “The Garden of the Heart Prayer”
Chris, Jen, and Don discuss Don’s early experimentation with “The Garden of the Heart Prayer.” Don shares his initial skepticism toward God speaking through pictures in prayer and his initial struggle concerning if what he saw and heard in prayer was biblical, and the lasting life change that resulted. Don and Jen discuss a real-life example to illustrate the importance of leading others to hear from the Lord themselves, rather than too quickly sharing our interpretations of images someone else received during prayer. And they share a bit about why pictures can be so powerful in prayer, why they prefer to start with scripture, and why they are slow to introduce some imagery into prayer.
