In our 3rd episode to wrap up the end of this brutal year we are talking about broken hearts! While the main idea of the episode is focused on being heartbroken after a relationship, we also discuss broken hearts when it comes to losing a loved one, losing a job or losing a pet. Heartbreaks are always difficult and it may influence you to sulk in your own sorrows, but we are here to get you moving again! We talk all about the strategies that you can use to overcome a broken heart. Whether it is using the heartbreak as a motivating factor to get you into the gym or getting you out of your comfort zone to start putting yourself out there again, there are plenty of ways to distract yourself from thinking about an old lover. 

Throughout this episode we go over scenarios that have happened with friends and family to evaluate which ways are healthy ways to get over a break-up. Maybe you need to dwell on things in your room for a day or two, but all that sulking and not moving can be detrimental to your happiness! After you take a few days to feel sorry for yourself, it is time to get back out there and make yourself happy again. Just simply moving into a different room in your house will help!

On our second episode we cover all of the boundaries...literally. We talk about boundaries with family members, friends, relationships and more. We go over a situation where a girlfriend was not invited to Christmas because of the boyfriend's family as well as parental tendencies such as being worried about the virus or not wanting to entertain. On the topic of boundaries, we also cover sharing locations. Is it healthy to ask to share locations with your significant other? Is it OK if they don't want to? 

We also discuss a story of girlfriends hanging out with their boyfriend's friends and vice-versa. Do some people make more sacrifices than others? Should you be able to hangout with your partner's friends even if you are the lone girl/boy in the room? What are some common things that men and women do with their friends? Is it only sports and gaming for guys and only gossip for girls?

Welcome to Unreal Therapy hosted by Lisa Ryan & Maki Mandelis! This is our first podcast ever so we didn't have much structure in this episode, but we talked about relationships, the differences between men and women's perspectives, the benefits of anonymous online therapy and much more playful banter. 

Lisa Ryan is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been saving relationships for over 18 years. She specializes in infidelity, trust building and identifying the root cause of relationship issues. She has seen thousands of clients over the past 18 years of her private practice and now she is developing a membership website called Counseling for Busy People that is designed to help women with fun workshops, quizzes, videos, webinars and more.

Maki Mandelis is a Communication Specialist who was hired by Lisa in early October. Maki is the one behind all of the digital content that you see on Counseling for Busy People. Maki's role on the podcast is to show a younger male's perspective of relationship problems and solutions. Although the podcast and the Counseling for Busy People membership are made for women, Maki gives a fresh viewpoint from the lens of a man.
