Apologies for this post going up late. Many of you know that I live in Texas, and we've been without power or internet for 2 days and were lucky enough to get both back this morning. I'm hoping it sticks around but I'm gonna do what I can while I can.

RoShawn and I were both caught off-guard at the fact that this was our last episode of Ghost Story and mostly that's on me. In these chapters, Harry realized that he done fucked up. Rather than the Lecter Specters wreaking havoc on Corpse-taker, they turn into her lunch, and now she's considerably more formidable than before. This leads to a battle in which Harry very nearly over-extends himself because he forgets that his magic is literally ripping him apart when he uses it, and he decides that the only way to get anything done is to fully manifest. Which he does. That ALSO does not go well.
Meanwhile, Corpse-taker takes over Bob's body and kicks him right out like she's an asshole landlord, and then hops right out of there into Molly's head. YIKES.

In these chapters, Harry and the Sppok Squad storm the beach and come up against some agents of pure nightmare, and then Harry's team is like "LOL HOLD MY BEER" and they go to fucking town. And it's horrible and kind of hilarious and obviously disturbing. But also, I'm glad they're on OUR side, amirite?

These chapters are the ones in which Harry usese the authority granted to him by Sir Stewart to gather up an army of unquiet ghosts in order to free Morty. He enlists Molly's help, and decides to enter from the side of the Never Never...where he winds up in the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan.

Okay, listen, I was saying back when we read the first meeting of Harry and He Who Walks Behind that I had a hard time finding good artwork of that moment. Then today, while searching for a depiction of Butters pretending to be a Warden, I somehow stumbled across a great one and decided to go ahead and use it because it's just really, really good. These chapters are the ones in which Aristedes is finally taken down, and RoShawn is really really pleased that the solution to dealing with this asshole is NOT just a spectacular beatdown. Instead, it's about the gang having someone that they can trust to turn to instead, and that makes everything feel so much more satisfying and nuanced than it might have otherwise.

These are the chapters that kind of MAKE this book for me. I love seeing exactly what happened, I love having Harry be a ghost to explain why the memories are so vivid and perfect, I love his deal with Lea to trade info for the story...I'm all about everything in this section.

These chapters are the ones in which Harry finds out exactly what the Grey Ghost is after, and who she is. It's a pretty big discovery, and also the fact that Mort is standing up against her torture earns him some real respect from Harry. And from us the readers as well, I shouldn't wonder.

I chose this week's illustration of Agatha Hagglethorn, by the excellent Taylor Walpole, for a couple reasons. https://tylerwalpole.tumblr.com/post/149936263352/daily-dose-of-dresden-the-nightmare-and-agatha There's the fact that she gets a mention in this section, and then there's the fact that this depiction is so fucking well done. But one of the main reasons is that apparently nobody has done a full illustration of either Father Forthill, Nicholas Christian of Ragged Angel Investigations, or Fitz. They haven't even done an illustration of the Ragged Angel logo!
Anyway, this is the section in which RoShawn and I talk over all the things that are happening and how she's having trouble keeping track of it all, which I think is perfectly reasonable. And she's not at all sure about Harry just following a bunch of wraiths into a strange house, which I ALSO think is perfectly reasonable.
