UNspoiled! The Dresden Files

Thank you to sbloyd from reddit for this illustration of Bianca speaking at the White Council's ostentatiotory! https://www.reddit.com/r/dresdenfiles/comments/gqivmh/need_changes_illustrations_please_link/
In these chapters, Harry finds out that the White Council is going to be no goddamn help at all, which we might have expected but still sucks. Also, there's a little jaunt through the ways, and I belatedly realize I should have saved last week's illustration of Harry making potions for this week, but what can you do.
Many thanks to Brendan Hone for fact-finding!

I used an image of Harry in his lab because that's where he wound up this episode for a moment before getting gripped up by the cops. There was no illustration I could find of Harry in an interrogation room. :D Or of Susan in a cocoon for that matter.
Thank you all for listening, and we will see you next week with a new episode!

Oh boy, kids, this week we've got a fun one! In these chapters, Harry finally travels with Bob through to the unknown area of the NeverNever that borders his home, in a desperate bid to get away from the cops who are raiding his apartment. Thing is that while he's able to stash his stuff, he is NOT able to get past the giant centipedes that live there, and he has to turn right the fuck around and let himself get got.
And then there's the realization that maybe the whole thing with Duchess Ariana is about more than just him, which he only really comes to thanks to Murphy. Harry's operating on the assumption this is all about revenge...but what if it's not?
Thanks for listening, and we will see you next week!

I am in a helluva rush so I'm going to make this short, but I really am so excited about getting into this damn book.
OMG I CANNOT WAIT!
Enjoy!

We're getting into it now, folks! I'm going to make this entry short, but believe me when I say that some of RoShawn's concerns and predictions had me fucking rolling, and it was a struggle to play it cool AT ALL while listening.
You'll see why.
Thanks for listening to the show, and we will see you next week!

I decided to use this image for this episode because there's a shocking lack of illustrations of Susan Rodriguez out there, and of those that exist, there are almost none depicting her with the caramel skin tone she's described as having. I thought that a PoC depicting her in a cosplay was a nice nod to the fact that Susan isn't white, and it's a pretty dope image.
It's amazing that we're into Changes already, after seeing it so far away on the horizon when starting this series, but I am extremely excited about everything that lays in store for RoShawn in this book. She's just not ready.
Thank you all so much for listening, and I will see you again soon with a new episode!

Remember when I announced that we weren't going to be having an episode this week?

I lied.

I've been waiting to use this cool shapeshifting artwork ever since I first saw it. There's something about it that really captures the motion and strangeness of it all, and thank you very much to Vincent Chong for always coming through with gorgeous work.

First off, I must ask that you all bear with us in this episode because RoShawn is using a new mic, and the mic stand wasn't working so she had to kind of balance it in her desk drawer. The result is a far-away, kind of echoing sound quality that I had to heavily edit to even get her audible. Sorry about that!

I can't believe there's only one episode left until the end of the book!

It's time for the next episode, and we're getting into it now, kids! The battle in underway on Demon Reach, and Harry is about to get into it with Shagnasty when the chapters draw to a close.
These chapters are when we get the full appreciation of intellectus and how much of an advantage it is for Harry. Lara manages to get her revenge on Madeline in the most gruesome way possible, and Binder gives Harry some crucial information on a cell phone in a effort to save his own skin. It works.
Thanks so much for listening, and we will see you next week with a new episode!

This illustration is not exactly how I pictured Demonreach but I still rather like it. Very dramatic.
I'm so sorry we weren't here for you last week, but I assure you that nobody was sadder than us about it, since we recorded a whole damn episode and didn't even get to take the night off. It's been the month from hell, folks.
To make up for it, we're covering 6 chapters this week! Thanks again so much for your patience, and for listening, and we will see you next week!
