This episode, we catch up with the chapter that I started to talk about last week, and we get to see what Thomas is pretty sure is Lucio coming on the Harry in his own living room. It's amusing, because both RoShawn and I didn't really see it that way at the time, but in looking back we both feel kinda dopey.
Then there's the aquarium, and this is a really uncomfortable situation. Nicodemus is here and wants to speak to Dresden alone. But about what? Harry's pretty confident that it's not a trap but we can never be sure with the Denarians.

These chapters are more conversations between allies, but it's not the kind of relaxed planning that we sometimes see. First, Harry has a round table with Molly, Karrin, and Thomas, and brings them up to speed on what the Denarians can do...at least, what he knows they can do as of right now. Then he goes to the Carpenters' house and kinda gets in a fight with Michael? Finally, he makes a deal with Gard, and I'm not sure how that's going to work out for him.

Harry's talk with the Knights circles around until they realize that Nicodemus is probably behind Marcone's capture, and the meetup with Murphy at Mac's kind of ends with her realization that he's not fucking lying when he says that what's currently happening is probably something outside what her officers are capable of handling.

This episode is getting into some pretty fun elements now, because we run across Queen Mab (after a wonderful reunion with Toot-Toot that RoShawn was just saying she kinda wanted) and the Queen is calling in one of the three favors that Harry has promised her. He tries to decline, and she successfully...ah...persuades him to reconsider.
Then Mab vanishes, and Harry is left face-to-face with not one, not two, but three of the Gruffs that are after him for as yet unknown reasons, and he has to think fast to get out of it. He only just manages to dodge them, but he knows that his luck has to be running low.

Hey you people! I am very excited to be starting Book 10 of The Dresden Files, and I can't wait to see what happens because to be honest I HAVE FORGOTTEN.
These chapters were short (chapter 2 was like 3 pages long) so we decided to go ahead and cover 4 of them instead of the usual 3. The first thing to happen is an attack by what we later find out are Gruffs, and Bob is super tickled by the fact that Dresden was given two black eyes by a fairy story character.
Then Harry goes to investigate a crime scene with Murphy, which is definitely arson, but seems to be some kind of strange pentacle, which could have been to summon something, to trap something, to open a door, or protect. Harry is a little shaken by it because whomever did this has managed to wipe their magical prints from the scene, which he didn't even know was possible.
