Up the Guts

Champion Data statistics have shown, that the only way to be a successful side in 2026, you need to move the ball fast.

The Top 2 sides for this in 2025, funnily enough were Grand Finalists Brisbane Lions and the Geelong Cats.

While not always, but most of this ball movement will start from the back half of the ground, which is why you're best ball users are best suited to half-back.

With this Statistic being brought to attention by Champion Data's Daniel Hoyne, I set myself the task of picking a player from each club who I would give the Keys to.

The "Keys of Attack" refers to the player who I believe is the player who has the best abillites to kick start the fast ball movement for each club.

Listen along as we pick all 18 (or maybe more) players, some notable and some niche. Let me know in the comments who you would give the "Keys of Attack" to from your club.

It was a downward spiral for the Sydney Swans after their big Grand Final loss in 2024 to the Cats.

Dean Cox was elevated to the Senior Coaching role and didn't find it easy. Injuries to key players, impacting their ball movement and structure and a bizarre position movement to a Key Position player at the start of the season, left everyone scratching their heads.

They have gone big and bold in the off season, moving on a few player like Will Hayward and Ollie Florent, in order to lure the big fish in Charlie Curnow. Could this be the missing piece to their scoring and forward 50 targets?

Listen along as we preview the 2026 season of the Sydney Swans.

The Melbourne Football Club has hit the full reset button, appointing a new Senior Coach & shipping off star players to new homes.

Stephen King has shown what he is looking for with his new team and wasted no time putting this into place and making some brutal calls. King is opting to go for Younger Players who will buy into the Club. He had no hesitation show Star Midfielder Clayton Oliver the door as someone he doesn't want around his club and comfortable letting Christian Petracca make his move to the Gold Coast Suns.

It's definitely going to be a long year for the Demons, as they learn to play the Stephen King way, and younger players develop with more AFL experience. But, can a game-changing Midfield-Forward have another electric season, but do it more often and back up his All-Australian year last year? Can a Key Forward finally take control of this forward line after a disappointing 2025 season?Watch along as we answer and analyse all the questions and concerns for the Melbourne Football Club ahead of the 2026 Season!
