The pre-trial of the terror accused twins Brandon-Lee and Tony-Lee Thulsie was again postponed to May 30th in the High Court in Johannesburg today. They were arrested two years ago on allegations that they were plotting to attack institutions and sites that are important to Jews. They are also accused of planning attacks on the US embassy and have been linked to ISIS.

The first witness in the trial of 28-year old Sandile Mantsoe, who is accused of murdering his 22-year girlfriend Karabo Mokoena has taken the stand in the High Court in Johannesburg today. Mantsoe was arrested last year in May after Mokoena's burnt body was discovered in Lyndhurst north of Johannesburg. He has denied killing her but admits that he disposed of her body after finding allegedly finding Mokoena dead in his flat.

Workers and students at UNISA have launched a protest today against Professor Peter Havenga, who is the Executive Director: Academic Planner at the institution.
They are accusing him of making the working environment unbearable for black women in his department.
They are demanding that he leaves the university.
The Secretary-General of the Black Forum, an organisation representing women who are allegedly being abused, Kgagudi Morota says this abuse has been going on for years.

The mother of one of the three children who died after a wall collapsed in Doornfontein, Johannesburg says she's battling to come to terms with the death of her son. The children, aged between three and 10-years were playing next to the wall of a derelict building when it fell on them yesterday. The children were staying in the disused building with their parents

The families who have lost their relatives during petrol bomb disaster at Driekop near Burgersfort are living in anguish - as the remains of the deceased haven't been released. The families remain in mourning but don't know when will the burials be conducted. The deceased were burnt inside a bus which was petrol bombed. Five of the victims are locals and the other is a Lesotho national.

DA leader in the Free State, Patricia Kopane lead the party's delegation for an oversight visit of a housing project involving ANC Secretary General, Ace Magashule and his daughter. The DA says it intends on laying charges against Magashule for allegedly meddling in a housing project in order to ensure that a company linked to his daughter secured a housing contract worth 150 Million rands.

The ANC today unveiled a Wall of Remembrance for Mama Winnie Madikizela Mandela outside its headquarters in Johannesburg later this morning. The wall will allow members of the public to sign their own messages of condolences and support to Mam Winnie. This is part of the ongoing ten-day mourning. A national memorial service for the struggle icon will be held at the Orlando Stadion in Soweto on Wednesday and she will be laid to rest during a special official funeral on Saturday.

The case against three former SARS officials has been postponed until June this year. They appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court today on charges of corruption and contravention of the RICA Act. These relate to the so-called rogue unit at the revenue service which was alleged to have taken part in illegal spying. Ivan Pillay, Johann van Loggerenberg and Andries van Rensburg were served with summonses last week.

Six inmates are still on the run after they escaped from Joburg Prison, also known as Sun City, in the early hours of this morning. The suspects were awaiting trial prisoners.

Five days since the VAT increase, some consumers are already feeling the pinch while others say they are coping. Government increased VAT which is charged on goods and services, from 14 to 15 percent on the 1st of April. The hike has resulted in an increase in general prices. Hilda Kasa reports
