Parliament's Police Portfolio Committee does not have powers to remove suspended National Police Commissioner Riya Phiyega from office. That's according to the chairperson of the committee Francois Beukman. This comes after DA Member of the Police Committee Zak Mbhele said he would write to Beukman to request that the committee push for the removal of Phiyega from office. Management of Gospel singer Lundi Tyamara has confirmed that he has died at the age of 38 after fighting for his life in hospital.
