A new drug trend called Sizzurp, or purple drink is making the rounds in schools in Cape Town's southern suburbs. Parents are warned to take note of the homemade drug, which is a mix of codeine-based prescription cough syrup and cool drinks.It produces a feeling of euphoria. They are threatening not to go to the polls come this year's Local Government Elections in August should the Emhlalahleni Local Municipality not provide them with electricity, clean drinkable water and proper road infrastructure. Mineworkers Union AMCU- has suspended its strike at Sibanye Platinum Mine formerly known as Aquarius in Kroondal near Rustenburg in the North West.
