The Presidency has denies reports that President Jacob Zuma refused to his jet Inkwazi. The Democratic Alliance says it will go ahead with its plans to lodge a complaint with the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (icasa), stating that the SABC has allegedly refused to air its election advertisement. In a statement,the DA says the SABC had informed the party that it had no available slots for political advertisements. The DA said the SABC blamed its refusal to air its adverts on delays in the IEC's work with respect to the elections. Earlier the trade union AMCU has vowed to continue with its strike at the Sibanye Platinum mine, despite the company's issuing of a court order declaring the strike unprotected, but has since suspended it. The biggest union in South Africa's platinum industry embarked on the strike at the mine last month. It's demanding transport and safety allowances as well as bonuses. Sentencing proceedings are set to get under way today in the Western Cape High Court in the case of the woman convicted of kidnapping Zephany Nurse 19 years ago. The 51-year-old woman from Lavender Hill on the Cape Flats was found guilty on three charges - kidnapping, fraud and contravening sections of the Childre ns Act. Zephany was kidnapped from Groote Schuur hospital when she was three-days-old. She is expected to testify in aggravation of sentence, when the State puts its case forward. Berenice Moss reports

The Central Energy Fund says South Africa still has access to 90 days worth of crude oil reserves. This follows media reports suggesting that the country's strategic reserves have been drained to three hundred thousand barrels, enough for less than one day. The reports allege that the Central Energy Fund, the guardian of SA's strategic crude oil stocks, sold ten million barrels of crude without obtaining permission from the Treasury.
