God fogives His people (again) and instructs Moses to remind them of the conditions of His covenant with them. Moses asks God to let him enter into the promise land, but God stays true to His word....

Patriarchs and Prophets, Chapter 41: "Apostasy at the Jordan"

Human greed and covetousness knows no limit. Balaam, a man who once was a prophet of God, is willing to put it all on the line to gain earthly wealth. Balaam attempts to curse God's people but God, as He always has been, defends His people and turned the intended curses into blessings. Despite His failures, Balaam, in partnership with Satan (behind the scenes) gives the "secret recipe" for Israel's failure to the kings...

All the glory to Jesus who gave me the opportunity to share His word with His people at the Monroe Seventh Day Adventist Church this past May 31, 2025.

Misinformation is dangerous and its effects can change the way our bodies act and how we see and interpret what's going on around us. The Jews are a great example of the dangers of believing and internalizing wrong information... not about politics or conspiracies, but about the character of God. Jesus came not only to die for you and me, but to vindicate God's character.

Patriarchs and Prophets, Chapter 39: "The Conquest of Bashan"

Moses as a leader could help set the tone for the faith the Israelites had... and that he did. Trust in God always produces fruits; with faith Israel moved forward and defeated powerful cities simply because they trusted God had their best interests at heart. Also, God's mercy and love continues to be in full display.

Patriarchs and Prophets, Chapter 38: "The Journey Around Edom"

Israel is just but a "town" away from entering the promise land... yet again faith stumbles. Their complaining had led even Moses to sin and now they found themselves having to go back into the dessert and walk around the land of Edom. Of course, once again they open their mouth in complaints against God and this time, there were consequences to their lack of faith in God...

God is good, ALL THE TIME. Still, not even God can do something on behalf of those that want nothing to do with Him.

Patriarchs and Prophets, Chapter 37: "The Struck Rock"

After more than 40 years, Moses lost it. After wandering the dessert, one slip could have cause the fall of Israel and lost of trust in their early leader and heavenly too. Many lessons to be learned. To whom more was given, more will be expected.

Patriarchs and Prophets, Chapter 36: "In the Wilderness"

God's people wandered in the wilderness for 40 years... all because of their incredulity and continuous resistance to trust the living God. In the words of Ellen White: "Their desire to return to the land of slavery had shown them to be unworthy of freedom, and the ordinance of the Passover, instituted to commemorate the deliverance from bondage, was not observed."

Patriarchs and Prophets, Chapter 35: "The Rebellion of Korah"

Resentment still lingered in the heart of some for the crude reality they now faced: 40 years wandering in the desert. Following the steps and, clearly, the voice of Satan, he re-created the scenes at the Garden of Eden. Jealousy and envy entered his heart, he spread lies, and promised a better future for Israel. He convinced himself that Moses was pretending to be God's appointed leader... Once again, God is forced to intervene.
