Isaac and Rebecca had two boys: Jacob and Esau. Raised under the same roof but wildly different personalities and interests. One was a man of the here and now, the other one, a long-term planner. Despite God having promised that the younger would rule over the older, desperation forced one of them to deceive his father for the birth right blessing... as it ever has been, not waiting on God to fulfill His promises always lead to something bad.

Cities are filled with sin and practices that God must now bring to an end. Lot lives to see the consequences of his decisions and became the father of generations of sinners. Since the introduction of sin Satan found a magic recipe for deception: disguised lies. He realized that by mixing lies with truth (which makes the entire statement a lie) he can strongly persuade even those who claim to know the truth. He did it with Eve, there's evidence about it all across the Bible (even in Jesus' temptation), and he still does it today.

Every time I open the Bible, even if I'm reading something for the 100th time, I see things differently and learn new things. God's is just awesome. In John 15:15 Jesus says that He considers us friends... think about that... FRIENDS! Down here we are selective in who we let into our circles, yet, here comes the King of the Universe and without a hint of discrimination says: I consider you all friends.
What a friend we have in Jesus, huh?
