Urban Waves

Archipelago is a tale depicting a poetic journey into a sombre universe. Eerie and intriguing, the music captures our attention for its duration and leaves us wanting more. Mixing classical with modern electronic production, the musicians take us on a cinematographic adventure where your imagination will flow freely. Close your eyes and let the music do its thing.

Jesse Koolhaas was joined by the brilliant violinist and composer Myrthe van de Weetering to create this beautiful album. They are accompanied by Héctor Hervás Veredas playing the Cello on all tracks and Bjørn Waling on drums for Mental Travelogue.

The incredible artwork is a hand painting by the very talented Ivan Merlin.

Blameful Isles is back with a new album after 2 years of silence he brought us right back in the spiritual forest that is his mind. On this lovely tune he wrote about a fairy dancing ritual, a connection with nature and cycle of life. Here are a few words he wrote about this song: "This is where they dance. Dance until the sun sets. I counted seven of them. Like ice skating on water. Not frozen. My heart raced. I cried."

The album is now fully available and on limited vinyl edition!

For this song the closest we could come up with are Acid House meets Electro Jazz meets Organic Fusion hah! The one man band hailing from Sweden, Daniel Israelson is a multi-instrumentalist musician, producer and song writer. A Ladybug exercising Tai-chi is a song about achieving inner peace while facing the chaotic uproar that life throws in our direction. Here's the last single before the final drop of the full debut album by Vienna that will have 17 tracks and come along with a strictly limited vinyl edition at the end of the month of June 2020.

New Pants, New Me is a fusion track of modern electronic with jazz & funk. The feel and rhythm of the song takes you on a feverish trance that will make you dance uncontrollably. Drop your pants for the song then get new ones and become a new person. No but jokes appart, Vienna keeps surprising us with these very original tunes. Make sure you check him out and stay tuned for his full album on June 29!

The corruption of authority ripples through the veins of society, poisoning the foundation with greed and self-interest. But that doesn’t mean that the system cannot be healed. We all have a unique and distinct voice which can be used to raise up one another in the name of peace and love, while fighting against the long-running oppressive forces that wreck havoc and have taken so many lives. Our actions are our own. We must take action together and fight with whatever resources we have. This is a movement, not a moment.

Reptile Government was produced by Canadian beat maker, Vienna. Like all beat makers in our field, the underlying influences of Black music are integral to the rhythms, grooves, and structure of Vienna’s music. We must be held accountable in our community to honour these influences and stand with the Black community. We must use our position to share anti-racism resources and continue to produce music that makes us vibe. Ultimately providing the community with hope.

Idols is the first single out of Vienna's debut album named "Some Alternate Timelines" that will be released with Urban Waves Records at the end of June 2020.

If you aren't familiar yet, Vienna is a young and upcoming producer from Canada. In our opinion his music is among the freshest right now, he's being discovered by a lot of people. He already released a few EP's independently and with labels such as Just Good Beats and Dust Collectors.

We are now going to introduce his first album on vinyl and with the awesome art of Ivan Merlin aka Stab Master Arson.
