Sheriff's OfficePosted on FlashAlert: November 13th, 2015 4:37 PMDetectives from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the Oregon State Police and the State Fire Marshall's Office have been working on this case since early this morning. Through the investigation it was determined that 36 year old Tobias Schulson was the deceased person found inside the motor home along with his dog early this morning. Mr. Schulson had been living in the motor home at the time. The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and it was determined the cause of death was accidental ,due to smoke inhalation. The investigation is ongoing, but there does not appear to be any foul play involved. Through the investigation detectives learned that there was some type of electric heater that was being used inside the motor home during the night. According to arson investigators the heater is suspected to be the source of the fire. On November 13th, 2015 at about 2:40 am the Dallas Fire Department assisted by SW Polk Fire, were dispatched to the 4000 block of Van Well Rd on a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival they found a motor home fully engulfed in flames. The fire department took action and later determined that there was a deceased person inside. They called the Polk County Sheriff's Office, who responded to the scene. The Polk County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the Oregon State Police and the Oregon State Fire Marshal. All of the agencies are working together to collect evidence from the scene to help determine what took place. An autopsy is scheduled for later this morning to help determine a cause of death. At this point the investigation is ongoing and no further information is available. The Polk County Sheriff's Office will release more information when available.

MISSING VETERAN RESCUED ON VETERAN'S DAYNews Release from Yamhill Co. Sheriff's OfficePosted on FlashAlert: November 11th, 2015 7:53 PMOn Saturday, November 7th the Lane County Sheriff's Office listed Timothy John Marsh, 51 years of age, as a missing endangered person. Marsh, a Gulf War veteran with the United States Army, was last believed to be traveling from Florence to Newport in his Ford F-250 pickup. He had not been seen since. Concern was heightened due to medical issues facing Marsh.Earlier today, at approximately 8:30 A.M., 61 year old Monte Taylor of Dallas was grouse hunting in the woods off of Homestead Road in rural Willamina. While on a landing and waiting for fog to clear, Taylor heard what he believed was a faint cry for help. Over the course of the next half hour or so, Taylor tried to pinpoint the origin. He contacted the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office through dispatch advised what he was hearing. YCSO Sergeant Todd Whitlow, who oversees Yamhill County Search and Rescue, responded with Deputy Don Stackpole. Through shouting back and forth for some time, they were able to ascertain the location of Marsh, who was across a canyon. Approximately one half hour later, Stackpole and Search and Rescue member Keith Fritz, who responded after hearing about the incident on social media,located Marsh by his vehicle. Marsh was becoming hypothermic and was somewhat disoriented, suffering from fatigue. Marsh advised that his pickup had run out of fuel what he estimated to be about 4 days earlier. He said he and his dog had been surviving by eating dog food and getting water from puddles and ice. He told deputies that he had walked as far as 4.5 miles that morning, and come to a dead end. He returned after recalling his army training which taught him his best chance at rescue was to remain with his vehicle. "This is an amazing outcome and the best case scenario we could hope for, especially for a Veteran on Veteran's Day." said Yamhill County Sheriff Tim Svenson. "We're so pleased Mr. Mash was reunited with family today." Marsh was transported by Willamina EMS to the Willamette Valley Medical Center where he was treated and released later that afternoon.

EARLY MORNING FATAL CRASH ON MCMINNVILLE OUTSKIRTSNews Release from Yamhill Co. Sheriff's OfficeOn November 12, at about 1:39 A.M. Yamhill County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in the 17000 block of NW Baker Creek Road. Deputies arrived on scene and discovered a 2003 Acura on its top and an adult female on the ground. It appeared that the female had been thrown from the vehicle during the crash. She was the sole occupant. The female, identified as 24 year old Alexis Anderson of McMinnville, was pronounced deceased on scene. Initial investigation indicates speed was a factor in the crash and no seat belt was utilized. The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Oregon State Police. DALLAS, OR - Polk County District Attorney Aaron Felton announced today that the Grand Jury has issued indictments in the cases of Ronnie Lee, Jr. and Irish Boyce. Lee, 46, of West Salem, was indicted on 28 felony and six misdemeanor charges, including one count of kidnapping in the first degree, six counts of rape in the first degree, 12 counts of unlawful sexual penetration in the first degree, six counts of sodomy in the first degree, one count of assault in the second degree, six counts of assault in the fourth degree, and two methamphetamine related charges. Boyce, 44, of West Salem, was indicted on 18 felony and six misdemeanor charges, including one count of kidnapping in the first degree, three counts of assault in the third degree, 12 counts of unlawful sexual penetration in the first degree, six counts of assault in the fourth degree, and two methamphetamine related charges. Lee and Boyce are scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon at 1:15 in Polk County Circuit Court.
