ODOT: East. Ore.: Various highways in NE Oregon area: The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for sections of NE eastern Oregon. Travelers are advised to be prepared, especially while operating high profile vehicles such motor homes, travel trailers or commercial trucks. Travelers should be prepared for possible delays due to downed trees and watch for blowing debris, dust or snow. MAIN IMPACT COUNTIES: Crook, Deschutes, Gilliam, Jefferson, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Wasco, Wheeler, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Kittitas, Klickitat, Walla Walla, and Yakima. TIMING: Winds will gradually increase through today and continue tonight with the strongest winds occurring in the late afternoon and evening. Wind gusts may be very sudden at times. A high wind warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
