As summer 2021 rolls on, various cities around the United States (and various countries around the world) are starting to re-introduce mask mandates. As that is happening it was revealed recently that Dr. Fauci is reconsidering a nationwide mask mandate recommendation from the CDC. With all of this talk - could we see another lockdown? If we did what would it's impact be? Are the numbers really that scary? Let's talk about it.

This week instead of a normal episode of Use Your Words, we have episode 0 of Hey Church! We Need To Talk About Mental Health (or as I like to call it Hey Church!). Next week we will also be hosting episode 1 of Hey Church as well - as well as hopefully have the rest of the items for Hey Church full finished and up for everyone to enjoy.

In America there is sometimes an unfortunate combining of Patriotism and the Christian faith. This has resulted in some people lumping the two together - both the good and the bad parts of it - as well as people who are attempting to be true to their Christian beliefs unwillingly and unknowingly (at least we hope) attempting to force their beliefs on others through political measures. This has given the Christian faith a bad name in America - and we are not doing anything good on our own to help with that at times.

Recently Kevin Max announced on Twitter that he is an Exvangelical. This was of course met by the typical Twitter reaction - those that agree with him cheered and rejoiced and those that didn't agree with him immediately went after him. There never seems to be a middle ground with twitter - and this is just another reason why Social Media is cancer - but this is neither here nor there.

It seems that in the past few months there has been a trend where people that have any questions regarding their faith jump over investigating their faith and go immediately to marking themselves as exvangelical as they are deconstructing their faith. Some of the people that make this pronouncement, like Kevin Max, then go on to state that they believe in the universal christ. What does this mean? Let's discuss this.

This week Aaron wanted to talk about why people sometimes don't feel worthy of the blessings in their lives - and what to do when you don't feel worthy of these blessings. At least that is how the episode started out - but quickly turned into a sort of therapy episode for Aaron and his own feelings of unworthiness.

This week Paul and Aaron talk about a topic that comes up time to time in the Christian circle. Often times people will say that only God can judge them - or that we should not judge anyone else as their sin is only between them and God.

But does the New Testament actually say this? A lot of people quote Matthew 7:1 and go "there - don't judge me" but they forget to read the rest of the verse, let alone the rest of the New Testament. Let's take a look at the more then just the first half of Matthew 7:1 as well as some other verses in the New Testament.

This week Paul and Aaron talk about identity - both in how we make assumptions about people who wear certain cloths/accessories as well as how we show our identity to the things that we believe/associate with. This seems to be a double edged sword as we sometimes jump to the wrong conclusions - ala judging a book by it's cover but we don't want to be judged based on that.

As Christians we ultimately find out identity in Christ - but way too often we are guilty of judging based on the external vs the internal.

In what sounds like an episode of "An Old Man Yells At The Clouds" - Paul talks about how scary TikTok can be. While this app appears to be very popular amongst the younger generation, there are also very adult things found on the application as well as other things that are questionable - with people doing obnoxious things on the application just to become "internet famous". Some of these things include kids swearing in front of their parents until they get in trouble, or grown men walking up to other people asking them what they could purchase with their "body count". For those not in the know - Body Count is the number of people a person has slept with. Yeah - if you just threw up in your mouth a little - your not the only one.
