  • I Know You By Name - Exodus 33:12-23
I Know You By Name - Exodus 33:12-23
Even if you are not a Christian, God knows your name! God also knows that we are a stubborn and sinful people and even though many generations have passed we still have not learned to be faithful to Him. So, that leads me to ask: how can we expect to receive those Holy Spirit gifts that God has for us?

  • Never bow to Peer Pressure! - Exodus 32:1-14
Never bow to Peer Pressure! - Exodus 32:1-14
If, just like Aaron was, you are experiencing peer pressure, I think it's important to understand that you are not alone. Dealing with peer pressure can be difficult, but there are some ways to help address this pressure:
First take Your Time - Instead of quickly agreeing to do something you'd rather not do, pause, and take a few deep breaths. It's easier to resist the pressure when you put some time and space between yourself and the situation.
Second, consider Your Reasons - When you're faced with a choice, ask yourself what your reasons are for doing something. If it's because you're afraid your peers might exclude you if you don't do what they ask, then you may want to reconsider.

  • Thankfulness to God - Deuteronomy 8:7-18
It’s Thanksgiving here in Canada! But what are we thankful for? What do we thank God for? Do we ever thank Him because the car didn’t break down? Because our shirt didn’t rip? Because our tools didn’t break? Don’t you agree that we need to remember to thank God for these quiet blessings we have received?

  • Are you Testing the Lord? - Exodus 17:1-7
Are you Testing the Lord? - Exodus 17:1-7
During their wandering, their wilderness food was a flaky residue, something left after the dew evaporated, left over any surface… the ground, or rocks. This new food was called: “What is it?” or in Hebrew: “manna”. When they weren’t reminiscing about the good times they enjoyed back in Egypt, they were complaining to the Lord and blaming Moses about the miserable times they were experiencing here in the wilderness and because there was almost no water to be found.

  • Into the wilderness of Sinai - Exodus 16:1-15
Into the wilderness of Sinai - Exodus 16:1-15
There is a change in temperature and days are getting shorter, we hear and see many geese and ducks gather and fly in that typical crooked V shape formation… They are loud, honking. It's like they are whining… whine, whine, whine…. It sounds like complain, complain, complain. And you know what? That seems to be all that the Israelites did during those days of the Exodus. God does so much for us, I wonder do we do the same thing today?

The Gift of Deliverance - Exodus 14:19-31
God gave us day and night and as a result He gives us the gift of new days… but on certain days, waking up in the morning feels like one of two things – either a blessing or a curse… Some of us see living another day as a blessing… while others aren’t quite satisfied with the life they’re living.

  • Eating with Urgency – Exodus 12:1-14
Eating with Urgency – Exodus 12:1-14
Passover was a holiday designed to celebrate Israel’s deliverance from Egypt and to remind the people of what God had done.
In killing the lamb, the Israelites shed innocent blood. From this point on, the Hebrew people would clearly understand that for them to be spared from death, an innocent life had to be sacrificed in their place. And so, in a sense the first Passover resembles Jesus’ Last Supper. For us as Christians, the occasion of the Passover meal naturally reminds us of Jesus' Last Supper. Even in New Testament times, the earliest Christians had already begun to identify Jesus as "our paschal lamb."
