I had a visceral reaction when a friend posted, "Lately I've been replacing my 'why is this happening to me?' with 'what is this trying to teach me?' and everything around me has changed."

There's is an inherent flaw in this way of thinking that centers the individual and imbues him/her with an almost magical sense of that "this" isn't suppose to happen to them. But it does because "this" befalls us all and we're not special in that regard. It's that sense of being special that prevents us from seeing reality as it actually is and, ultimately, holds us back.

Are you friends steering your wrong? Did your parents steer you wrong? How can you be sure?

This year has been amazing. This episode kicks off the reboot of a podcast idea that wobbled along the Law of Attraction and entrepreneurship axes. Now, the thinking will be a little bit more expansive in scope and will include any idea relevant to the thing that we all want: to live our best lives.

Let's get it!

Living our best lives means becoming our best "selves". And that doesn't happen automatically--we have to work at it. The work, the labor is what is transformative. It's labor that gives birth to our new life. The Law of Attraction is no about hoping and waiting, it's about becoming a co-creator in your own destiny.

Science is hard, but you don't need to rely on Abraham, Ramtha, or any other interdimensional spirit to explain how the Law of Attraction works because it's in accordance to how nature already works. The authority that comes from these "beings" subverts the primary question that we should be asking, "Who should I trust?" Once we've figured that out (cf. Episode 10), it's clear that these beings are simply not necessary and are a distraction.

Can listening to the wrong people kill your chances of success? How do you know whom to trust? Most people don't have a systematic way of thinking about whose advice to trust. Listening to the people closest to you will usually keep you stuck where you are. So... how do you know who to listen to?

Plenty of Law of Attraction folks replace their old notion of God with "The Universe".  If you want to believe in God, then believe in God. But New Age  replacement of God with "The Universe" still won't get you any closer to  your dreams if you're expecting the miracles to come from some outside  force. You don't have to "affirm" some magical notion of getting rich by  midnight. Stay in that mentality and you *always* be broke.

You can do vision boards until the cows come home, but if you're doing any one of these things, you'll never get what you want.

The path of Spiritual pursuit and the path of wealth and worldly  pursuits are the same. The alchemists understood this.
