A little about out guest: Dr. Uchenna “UC” Ossai is a sex-positive pelvic health physical therapist, sex educator and counselor. UC spends her days treating people with both sexual and pelvic floor dysfunction, and her evenings educating the masses on everything that has to do with “sexytime.” UC received her clinical doctorate in physical therapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and she completed her residency in Women’s Health at the Washington University at St. Louis. UC went on to continue her post-graduate training at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, where she received her certificate in Sexuality Education and Counseling.

Me and the amazing, doula, Emerald Ortiz discuss the importance of breastfeeding, the historical issues surrounding surrounding it, barriers to breastfeeding and more! A little about our guest:

Emerald is a mother of 3, wife, full spectrum culturally competent doula, and a pregnancy and infant loss advocate. Birth work has been her passion and heart’s work since she was a teenager. She always knew she would end up supporting women in the birthing process. Recently she became a Shafia Monroe Consulting Full Circle culturally competent Doula. She finds it important to support pregnant people through the entire process, which includes pregnancy resource support all the way through labor support and into postpartum care. She also believes it to be very important as a doula and a Pregnancy And Infant Loss (PAIL) advocate, to be prepared to support people who have lost pregnancies and have stillborn (angel babies) and rainbow babies. When not working her day job at a kick-ass patient centered progressive bio-tech company or helping babies be safely born she is probably planning a Disney World vacation. ☺️
