At the age of 10, I was hospitalized for months and had to undergo years of surgeries. I was an introvert and was bullied in school. One day, a kid threatened to beat me up and that's when I decided to join a gym at the age of 16. After 6 months of preparation, I was able to beat him up. Now at 33, I'm obsessed with lifting weights and doing hatha yoga. I have also dabbled in martial arts and have learned the basics. Martial arts is a very empowering form of physical activity and it also carries a sense of discipline. It is a high risk activity but the community is very respectful and humble. In the end, martial arts is all about self mastery.
