 Your Obedience May Be Preparing the Way.

Have you ever known what God wanted you to do—but decided to do it your own way?

Sometimes we think obedience simply means reaching the destination. But what if how you get there matters too?

In this episode of Valetha’s Greatest Moments With God, I share a recent dream that challenged me to look differently at God's instructions. In the dream, the direction was simple: take five steps and one jump. But in my excitement, I did much more than I was instructed to do—and had to turn around, go back, and follow the instructions correctly.

God used that moment to reveal something I’m learning in this season: specific instructions require specific obedience.

Through Joshua 3 and the Israelites crossing the Jordan River, we see what can happen when God's people allow Him to go before them and then move according to His instructions. The path they could not clear themselves was prepared for them—and they crossed on dry ground.

Maybe God has already given you an instruction that you've delayed, changed, added to, or simply haven't completed.

It may not seem big or significant. But your next step may not be about doing something impressive.

It may simply be about doing what He told you to do.

And if you missed the instruction the first time, there may still be grace to turn around, go back, and obey.

 Trusting God When Everything Around You Says Otherwise.

Have you ever received confirmation from God about something you were believing for, only to watch your circumstances begin to tell a completely different story?

In this deeply personal episode, Val Mitchell shares her journey of believing God for a promise concerning her son. She prayed, received confirmation, stepped out in faith—and then found herself waiting month after month for the provision needed to make it happen.

Then came the answer she didn't expect: No.

That “no” challenged her faith and exposed something deeper—unbelief.

What happens when disappointment from your past begins affecting your ability to trust God in the present? What happens when waiting makes you question what God already told you? And what happens when frustration causes you to move before God gives you direction?

Through her testimony, Val shares what God taught her about coming back into alignment, watching the words she speaks, allowing others to stand in faith with her, and trusting God's love even when she cannot see how the promise will come to pass.

There are moments when you have to put the agenda aside and simply worship.

In this special worship episode, Val Mitchell invites you to pause and remember the goodness of God—His protection, His provision, His guidance, His comfort, and the prayers He has already answered.

But our thanksgiving doesn’t have to stop with what we can see.

What about the prayers you’re still waiting on? The promises that haven’t manifested yet? We can thank God for those too—by faith.

Take a few moments, quiet everything around you, and worship. Think about what God has done, what He brought you through, and what you’re still believing Him for.

Then simply say:

“Thank You, Lord.” 🙌🏾

What happens when God doesn’t lead you around the storm—but asks you to walk through it?

In this episode, Val Mitchell takes us into Psalm 23 and the powerful picture of God as our Shepherd. The path may include dark valleys, difficult terrain, and moments when we wander away from where we’re supposed to be—but we are never walking alone.

His staff guides us back when we get off course. His rod protects us from what tries to attack us. And even in the middle of chaos, He is still leading us toward green pastures and still waters.

Val also shares why isolation can be dangerous during difficult seasons and how God can use the community He has placed around us to pull us back when we begin to separate from the flock.

The storm may be something you have to walk through, but you don't have to walk through it without your Shepherd.

Have you ever spent so much time trying to fit in that you started changing parts of yourself just to be accepted?

I have.

For years, I struggled with feeling different. Even as a child, I often wondered why I didn't seem to fit in with everyone else. But over time, God helped me see that being different didn't mean something was wrong with me.

In this episode of Valetha's Greatest Moments with God, I share my journey toward finally being at peace with who God created me to be.

I even share a personal story about being teased because of my laugh. It hurt me so deeply that, for years, I stopped fully laughing. Eventually, God helped me see that the very thing I was embarrassed about was part of what made me uniquely me—and could bring joy to others.

Maybe you've spent years comparing yourself, trying to fit in, or hiding the parts of yourself that make you different.

This conversation is a reminder:

You don't have to become someone else to belong.

John 15:16 reminds us:

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit...”

Sometimes peace begins when you stop fighting who you are and learn to embrace the person God created you to be.

Have you ever watched people around you step into new opportunities, new blessings, and new seasons while quietly wondering...

“God, why haven't I shifted yet?”

I've asked that question too.

However, what I learned is that not everyone shifts seasons at the same time. Sometimes what feels like a delay isn't a denial—there may still be something you need to gather, learn, release, or develop in your current season.

In this episode of Valetha's Greatest Moments with God, I share my personal experience of watching others shift while wondering when my own change would come—and what I learned when I took that question to God.

We'll talk about recognizing the season you're in, why new seasons require maturity and change, and how old mindsets, habits, relationships, or even familiarity can prevent us from moving forward when it's time.

Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us that there is a time and season for everything.

So instead of only asking:

“When is my new season coming?”

Maybe it's time to ask:

“What am I supposed to be learning, gathering, releasing, or changing right where I am?”

Don't rush your current season. There may be something in it that you need for where you're going next.

Do you love God—but sometimes feel like your relationship with Him has become comfortable, routine, or even a little distant?

In this episode of Valetha's Greatest Moments with God, I'm challenging you to move from the shallow end into the deep.

Going deeper with God isn't about being super spiritual, having a title, or praying for hours every day. It's about choosing to live intentionally with God instead of accidentally around Him. 

I'm sharing practical steps that have helped me deepen my own relationship with God—from examining what's taking up my time and turning my heart back toward Him, to creating dedicated time and space for prayer, surrendering the things I've been carrying, and learning to trust God with them.  

Because sometimes we come to God with our hands so full that we have no room to receive what He wants to give us.

It's time to open your hands, release the weight, and go deeper. 

Tune in and ask yourself: Am I comfortable in the shallow end—or am I ready to go deeper with God?

What do you do when you’ve been praying, waiting, and believing God—but the answer still hasn’t come?

In John 21:1–14, Peter and the disciples fished all night and caught nothing. Then Jesus appeared on the shore and gave them one instruction that changed everything: cast the net on the other side.

In this episode, Val shares a simple reminder: Your answer is on the way—but it may not come the way you expect.

God’s answer may come through an unexpected person, conversation, opportunity, or instruction. The question is: Will you recognize His voice and obey?

And when the answer comes, don’t become so focused on the promise that you forget the One who provided it.

Keep listening. Keep trusting. Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Your answer may be closer than you think.
