  • Settled Forever
Can you imagine if your salvation was something that God entrusted you with, to carry around with you, risking one stumble, accidentally dropping it, or even losing it? That is one scary thought.
Thankfully, the Bible shows us that our salvation is secured not only in the hands of Jesus, but also in the hands of an Almighty God! We have been sealed until the time of collection! Jesus died the substitutionary death of the cross to redeem us and justify us to the Father!
We at Valley View believe in eternal salvation, and tonight Pastor Jared showed us expositionally why we believe that. Take comfort in this sermon; you are secured, sealed, and justified!

  • When God's Got a Plan
Have you ever been in a situation where you've found yourself without a plan? In those moments there's confusion and no one seems to know what's going on. Sometimes there's too many people who try to take charge and lead and it just leads to more problems. What ends up happening at those times is that everyone just does their own thing, trying to figure a way out of the situation.
Maybe you've found yourself in a situation just like this and seeking God and His Plan. Rest assured that God always has a plan for whatever your troubles!
The people of Israel were in a similar situation. There was some confusion over the future of Israel's leadership. Saul has been rejected as King, the people were hurt, and Samuel doesn't understand what's going on. But God speaks to Samuel with words of comfort and commands him to go to anoint David.
When God's Got a Plan it might not always make sense to us. We might not always understand it. Sometimes it's hurtful. But in time it leads to healing.
Are you trying to find His plan in your situation today?

  • Giving Thanks, Part 2
This morning we took a look at the ten lepers who were healed by Jesus. We saw how we are just like those lepers; who we were, what was done in our life, and how we react. Pastor Jared challenged us to examine our heart and see if we are among the nine, or the one.
Tonight we continued on that same thought of Giving Thanks. What happens when we take time to turn back to Jesus to give Him thanks? It might feel against your nature to thank Him. But when you do, you will realize the details of all the other things He has given you. You may begin naming them one, by, one, just like the song says.
Count yourself among the thankful tonight. Carry the spirit of Thanksgiving with you every day, not just on Thursday.

  • Giving Thanks, Part 1
When we ready the story of the lepers who were healed by Jesus, we often focus on the one who returned to give thanks to Jesus. We praise that man for his thankfulness. We place him on a pedestal as one who we strive to be more like. Maybe we scoff and ridicule the nine others who failed to return to give thanks to Jesus.
But, have you ever stopped to think that you, yourself are just like those lepers that day? Think about it. Think about who they were before they were healed. They were cursed and cast out from society. But then Jesus called out to them, gave them a commandment, and cleansed them. We imagine them running with excitement as they realize they were healed. There's so many things on their minds that they want to do. And then we see the one, convicted, returning to Christ to give Him the thanks He so greatly deserves.
We are in the same condition as those lepers. But which group of lepers are you a part of? The nine who get so caught up in their blessings that they forget to give thanks to the one who gave them? Or the one who returned to the Lord to thank Him?

  • Why I Believe the King James Version
Valley View Baptist is an Independent, Fundamental Baptist and we believe the King James Bible (KJV) is the inerrant, preserved Word of God. But why do we use the KJV Bible? Do you use it? Are you able to answer that question?
Tonight Pastor Jared used the very Word of God to defend his, an our church's position, on the authority of the King James Bible.
We are in no way intending to tear down other versions of the Bible, nor are we suggesting that they can't be used to lead someone to salvation and spiritual growth. This is presented solely as factual information to explain why we believe what we do.

  • Liberated
As we celebrate Veterans Day today, we think about the sacrifices made by so many men and women who have selflessly placed their lives on the line protecting our freedoms. Because of their willingness to serve, we have freedoms and liberty. To each and every one who is service or has served, we say thank you!
Just as those who serve in the military liberate us, God and the loving sacrifice of His Son liberates us from sin! We can live a victorious life because of the strength of the liberty found in Him. Saul experienced this liberty first-hand during his conversion. His eyes were opened, he was freed, and he was liberated!
Are you experiencing the liberty found in God's forgiveness? Have you been released from the bondage of sin? If not, open your eyes to Him today! He's there, waiting, arms wide open, to welcome you. Be Liberated today!
