Vanetics with Van of Urantia and Niánn Emerson Chase

It is the responsibility of loving father-figures to correct children. This pattern is reflected in the Thought Adjusters being an indwelling spirit of God the Father. Children desire correction if it is done in balance and with love. Correction without love can be terribly damaging to a child’s development. Men should assist their children, and assist the Father Fragment, by training the children in their care to ‘adjust their thoughts.’

Van of Urantia talks candidly about the role of the father-grandfather-figure in a Cosmic Family and the importance of raising children in an extended family environment. It takes a team to raise children. Particularly when raising Starseed children, parents must balance the threefold spirit of God within. The Thought Adjuster, the spirit of the father; the Spirit of Truth, the spirit of the son; and the Holy Spirit, the spirit of the mother.

Life is filled with uncertainty. True security can only be found in our relationship with God the Father. Human mortals are each indwelt by a fragment of the Universal Father called the Thought Adjuster. In addition to this spark of divinity within, we have access to the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit, seraphim, and other angelic beings. Niánn Emerson Chase discusses her personal journey of navigating a leap of faith when she decided to abandon her financial security to pursue the divine leading of God. She knew she needed to leave behind her material security and become a full-time missionary. It is easy to fear the unknown. It is natural to want some degree of security and safety. On many levels our lives are ruled by the electrochemical balance of our physical bodies, but we can allow the indwelling Spirit to guide us through life and align us with the perfect will of God.

This teaching begins with the story of the Jesus and the two men praying in the temple, "the one a Pharisee and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself: 'O God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, unlearned, unjust, adulterers, or even like this publican. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.' But the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift his eyes to heaven but smote his breast, saying, 'God be merciful to me a sinner.' I tell you that the publican went home with God's approval rather than the Pharisee, for every one who exalts himself shall be humbled, but he who humbles himself shall be exalted."

As The URANTIA Book teaches, the “human paradox” is that we exist in nature and yet are able to transcend nature; we are finite beings yet we are indwelt by a spark of infinity - God.  This duality is the source of much uncertainty and anxiety until we find our identity as ascending sons and daughters of God.  When we embrace a higher understanding of God’s laws and our place in the universe, we can overcome the lower tendency towards the misuse, distortion, and perversion of the material world that often leads to pain and suffering.

In this teaching Niánn draws from the 2019 film “Lucy In The Sky” and the struggle many astronauts go through of having difficulty re-entering into mundane life after experiencing the serenity and vastness of the cosmos in space. The main character, Lucy, while intelligent and courageous, does not have a higher understanding of God and her place in the universe and, when literally faced with the immensity of creation, slowly begins to unravel mentally.  Her intellectual pride blocks her from developing spiritual courage and a faith in God, which is a common problem for many people. Only when we admit our shortcomings and seek counsel and guidance, can we be helped by the Threefold Spirit to expand our cosmic perspective.

There is true power in belief to transcend the chemical and physiological imbalances and find true health and healing. But even for a person who is growing spiritually, healing takes time, and their is a very real difference between healing and curing disease. In New Age circles, many people promote miracle cures and therapies, but none of them will work in a lasting way unless they get to the spiritual root of the disease. Thus the importance of “Soul Surgeons” who can wield the most powerful instrument of healing… truth.

Most people make their first moral decision around the age of 6 and receive their Thought Adjuster, a fragment of God to guide them as a moral compass.  However, in America we are not taught as children to seek God’s will in our decision making, even though many faiths teach that those who do the will of the Father are the sons and daughters of God.

Van of Urantia discusses the importance of surrounding ourselves with people who will remind us to do the right thing.  It is that still, small voice of God inside we often dismiss Who is trying to lead us towards health and safety.  While many search for answers in either the magical and mystical or the intellectual, God’s will is usually the way of common sense.  A beautiful reminder that God lives in our heart; not our mind.

Our choices create our reality and it is our right choices that eternalize us as souls.  In this episode Niánn Emerson Chase teaches about the importance of our choices and the effects of right and wrong choices on the evolving soul, particularly on our world which has both starseed (older souls) and Urantians (new souls).  Many starseed have deeply imprinted negative astral patterns and habits from lifetimes.  At this time of purification we are in, guidance by spiritual elders is needed for full personality integration within God’s perfect will.  Soul surgery when humbly received can bring healing and Point Of Origin Reconstruction for 4th order starseed.  Our highest goal as ascending sons and daughters is to be Godlike and our right choices are what get us there.
