With an emphasis on the recurring "guiding words" in the text, we will explore the nature of Jacob's internal split, as well as the critical first steps he takes toward integration. We will take a moment to consider the relevance of Jacob's struggles to today's global health crisis, as well as a potential matriarchal angle on this patriarchal story.
