Here's a brief look at some of the stories that made the cut for this week's edition of the News Round-Up-----A highly unusual event interrupted a scripted Chinese Communist Party Congress last Saturday. A former party leader was escorted out of the meeting in full public view at the closing session of the congress, appearing uncertain of what was going on.----The FBI has evidence that a former secretary for Hunter Biden was employed by the Chinese Communist Party before working for the Biden family business during the time it struck a lucrative deal with an energy firm at the heart of President Xi Jinping's quest for global economic and political domination.----The cybersecurity firm Mandiant said an influence campaign, suspected of operating in support of China's public interest, is targeting the U.S. by seeking to sow division both between the U.S. and its allies and within the U.S. itself.----Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer might have been sending mixed messages to President Joe Biden when caught talking to the Commander in Chief on a supposed -hot- microphone at an airport strip in Syracuse roughly 48 hours after the Pennsylvania Senate debate between John Fetterman and Dr. Mehmet Oz. After the president deplaned, Schumer is reported to have said, -Looks like the debate didn't hurt us too much in Pennsylvania, and we're picking up steam in Nevada.-----The Biden administration indicated this week that it's tracking several threats to the nation's election security infrastructure during the mid-terms by foreign and non-state actors.

Our nation is facing a critical election. At the same time, Christians are called to be both salt and light. As such we must recognize our accountability before God in the way that we handle the stewardship of our vote.--Returning to Crosstalk to remind listeners of the importance of this issue was Sam Rohrer. Sam is the president of the American Pastors Network. He's a former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives where he was Chair of the House Finance Committee. He's also the speaker on Stand in the Gap Radio and Stand in the Gap Television.--Sam began by explaining the importance of stewardship for Christians. There's stewardship of the environment, the raising of our children, our resources, as well as our intellect. In essence, there's nothing that anyone has that did not come from God. These things are loaned to us and our obligation is to steward them for God's glory. That includes everything we do such as our speech, our actions, and also our vote. So yes, when we stand before God one day, we will give an account for our votes as well.--What about those who believe that as Christians we shouldn't be engaged in earthly affairs such as voting- Sam noted that a true believer in Christ is first and foremost a citizen of the kingdom of heaven. The Bible tells us this. However, as believers we realize we're merely passing through this life and only here for a short time. During that time, part of our responsibility is to be an ambassador for Christ. Do we really perceive of ourselves as ambassadors sent by the King of heaven to reflect a millennial, earthly kingdom that is to come-

At just over 8,000 square miles -a bit smaller than the state of New Jersey-, Israel is a very small nation. So how and why would such a small nation impact the world in such a major way- Viewing that question from Scripture we see that they have impacted the world in the past. However, they're also impacting the world in the present and will be doing so in the future as well. - -There are some remarkable things taking place in Israel and the Middle East right now and joining Jim to discuss this was Dr. Richard Schmidt. Dr. Schmidt is pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church and also heads Prophecy Focus Ministries. He is speaker on the WVCY-TV program -Prophecy Focus- and the radio program, -Prophecy Unfolding.- Prior to his current pastoral ministry, he spent 32 years in law enforcement, including that of Acting Sheriff of Milwaukee County until his retirement in 2019. He's the author of several books including Are You Going to a Better Place-, Daniel's Gap- Paul's Mystery and Tribulation to Triumph- The Olivet Discourse.--So why does a nation with such a small footprint and population -Just under 9 million- have such significance- Dr. Schmidt commented that God made it clear that the Jewish people are his chosen ones and that he created 4 specific unconditional covenants with Israel.--On the current news front, five red heifers have been flown to Israel from Texas. Many in Israel are celebrating that these five heifers have shown up as they've been looking for 2,000 years for perfect, unblemished red heifers. Keep in mind, they have to be 2 years old, never had a yoke on their backs, and were never used for labor.

Dr. Michael Youssef is the founder and president of Leading the Way and founding pastor of the Church of the Apostles in Atlanta, GA. He's the author of multiple books including The Third Jihad, Jesus, Jihad and Peace, Never Give Up, Hope for This Present Crisis and his newly released book, Is the End Near---Dr. Youssef began by noting that a lot of people have heard the cries of the end of the world from non-believers or about Christ's second coming from believers, with some even predicting dates. Here's a brief listing of highlights from this week's broadcast.----The House Select Committee on January 6th have issue a subpoena to former President Trump in relation to the 2020 riots at the capitol.----New UK Prime Minister has announced that she will resign from that position.----Russian President Vladimir Putin declared martial law in four regions of Ukraine that Moscow annexed last month.----The U.S. government is actively selling potential surveillance devices that are directly manufactured by the Chinese Communist Party, to American military personnel and families on military bases. ----The U.S State Department walked back remarks by President Biden questioning Pakistan's ability to keep its nuclear weapons safe. ----North Korea fired artillery shells near its sea border with South Korea late Tuesday. ----The Biden administration is suing the Arizona governor for not complying with the administration's demand to remove shipping containers filling in the border wall gaps.----The overwhelming majority of border crossers and illegal aliens bused to New York City from Texas by Governor Abbott remain in the city's homeless shelter system that's nearing a breaking point according to Mayor Eric Adams.----A group of House Republicans sent a letter Thursday to Democratic Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser calling on her to reject two bills passed by the DC city council, that would allow illegal immigrants to vote in the nation's capital.----Los Angeles County Prosecutor Eric Neff said Chinese contractors working for a Michigan-based software company had direct control over U.S. election data through an app for poll workers called, PollChief.

The occult is gaining a greater and greater foothold in our culture. What was once considered evil is now being embraced and promoted. --Christianity.com recently reported that witches are being mainstreamed and promoted as cool. A former Disney star is making a documentary to explore her spiritual witchcraft journey.--Sadly, this isn't just happening in secular culture and the occult, it's also infiltrating Christian and other religious institutions. --Returning to Crosstalk to discuss this issue was Dr. David Brown. Dr. Brown is pastor of the First Baptist Church in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. He has a Masters in Theology and PhD in History, specializing in the history of the English Bible. In addition to his study of the English Bible he's also President of Logos Communication Consortium which operates LogosResourcePages.org. He is author of the book, The Dark Side of Halloween and also a research paper, Unmasking the Truth About Witches. He has been a resource used by law enforcement on issues pertaining to Satanism and the occult.--Dr. Brown noted that one of the key reasons the occult is moving into churches is because churches are not teaching sound doctrine. He noted 1 Timothy 4-1----Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.---He also referenced 2 Corinthians 11-14-15 that mentions Satan and how he transforms himself as an angel of light and his ministers as ministers of righteousness. In other words, they're basically counterfeiting the things of God.

This is when an individual or group creates or capitalizes on a crisis in order to consolidate control. --Then there's the Hegelian dialectic. It's a triangle where you have a thesis, the opposite corner is an anti-thesis, and the top corner is a synthesis. The thesis is the starting point where everyone's getting along. Next, someone creates the anti-thesis -the crisis- to begin discord. As panic and fear sets in, people become willing to forgo certain freedoms to settle for a synthesis that's only half as bad as the discord. That becomes the new starting point.

They would abolish private property rights, although some indicated that they didn't want their own private property rights taken away.--This is just one example of how a brainwashing, deconstruction and battle is taking place for the minds of students.--Returning to Crosstalk to outline this trend was William Federer. So if you give them the choice of either giving up their life or giving up their virtue, they'll give up the latter to save the former.--Plato believed that eventually democracy would crater and people will want someone to come along and fix things. Some governor comes along claiming he can fix everything, he just needs some emergency powers. --But how did Plato believe such an individual could stay in power- He'd do so by taking children so they will be unaffected by the habits of their parents.

From major cities to rural communities, record violence is taking place in the U.S. Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, witnessed 750 shootings during the summer of 2022. Just a couple of weeks ago, the Daily Wire referred to Philadelphia as not only being the birthplace of liberty, but now is a cesspool of murder. --According to the Metropolitan Crime Commission, the city of New Orleans has been declared the murder capital of the U.S. for the first half of 2022. --Fox News reported that there were 5 dead in a North Carolina shooting including an off-duty police officer. A suspect is in custody.--Western Journal reported that 2 fathers shot each other's daughters amidst a road rage gun fight.--In addition to the shootings, murders, knifings, car jackings, reckless driving and vandalism, there's also the epidemic of child sex crimes with one arrest per day so far this year with nearly 270 public educators arrested on child sex related crimes in the first 9 months of 2022. --Why is this happening and how can it be stopped- Joining Jim to provide some answers was Pastor Curtis McMiller, the pastor of Heritage Baptist Church in Kenosha.
