  • Special days for Devi worship. Importance of Fridays of Thai and Adi months.( Ashada & Pausha)

Fridays is an important day to worship the Mother Goddess all over India. The specific months of Thai and Adi are considered sacred by the tamils. What makes these months special? Join me as I take you through the possible reason for this tradition. While most of us know these traditions, we rarely know why we follow them. As I searched for the answer, I saw many posts on how to observe these traditions and what benefits one receives. But, I was not able to see why we consider these days important?  People looking to get married, or to have better relationships, ones who look for prosperity and a better life, always approach the Goddess in Her many forms. Each Friday is also dedicated to the worship of a specific form of the Goddess. I have not included any of that information in this video, I will do so maybe in another one later on. Instead, I tell the nature of the Goddess and the actual benefit of worshipping on fridays. The connection between the day, the month and the Goddess. Hope you enjoy the video.  I have used free to use videos from pexels 1. Fire: Video by GamOl from Pexels 2. Space- Video by GamOl from Pexels

  • Sanskrit Prayer to Mother Earth- Bhuma deviGratitude Prayer to Mother Earth with meaning in English.
Learn a simple chant praising Mother Earth along with the meaning. I have also explained the sentiment behind the prayer and the requirement for it in society. This is a prayer and chant that can be used by veryone irrespective of religious inclinations. It builds respect towards the Earth , it’s resources and the other beings who live in it. Co-existence and sustenance was the base value of Sanatana Dharma, and understanding our practices, makes us value them more .   This Morning prayer to Mother Earth is to be chanted before getting off the bed. Understanding that we are a product of Mother Earth and that respecting Her is our duty, we start the day by worshipping Her.  You can learn to chant this simple 2 line shloka and incorporate it into your morning routine. This prayer is chanted before one puts the feet to the ground in the morning.  You may be surprsed by the scientific reason behind this prayer.  It is scientifically proven that it is advisable to first roll to your side and dip your head to the floor to get the blood moving up to the head and brain, first thing in the morning. we call it "Bhoomi Naman" in hindusim, praying to mother Earth.  After this one should sit for a bit before getting up to give the heart the time to rev up for a brand new day of activity. This therefore becomes a good time to pray and feel calm before starting the day. Therefore, as hindus, we chant this prayer to the Mother Goddess.
Do watch the vieo for more detailed information on this shloka  Vedikheritage channel hopes to bring information on hindu practices and traditions to the uninitiated. I also bring forth meanings of shlokas and present reasons for the traditions and scientific explanations where possible.
