Happy New Year, everyone.
Today's podcast, the first of 2026, yay,
is a little different because I'm doing it along with Jesika Dawnn, who did the vegan chef training and now has her own vegan business, and we're going to be talking about Veganuary, because right now it's Veganuary.
Maybe you don't know what Veganuary is, but after listening to this podcast, you will.
I asked subscribers what they would miss if they had a month of not eating any animal products. And we're also going to talk about that.
So in a moment, I'm going to introduce you to Jessica. And I'm so excited. You have met her before in another podcast. I'll put the link to that podcast in the show notes. And for the show notes of this podcast, it's www.veets.com.au/46. Yay.
Jesika and I talk about
What Veganuary is.
How we became vegan.
And we made suggestions for substitutions for the following
Melted cheese on toast
Fried eggs
Scrambled tofu
Omelette with basil and tomato
BBQ chicken
Real Greek yoghurt
Milk and cheese
Ceviche
Eggs and all meat – don’t like fake meat
Chili con Carne
Spag bol
Sheppard’s pie
Steak and chips or fish and chips
After eating plant based for 3 days I always feel week
Slow cooked roast lamb shoulder
Am vegetarian and always have one of these in every meal
Egg – milk and cheese
Eating out during Veganuary
Bagel with cream cheese and lox
Carnation milk

Deva and her partner, Miten, tour the world singing devotional music. I first met Deva and Miten in Dorset, England, in 1997. I have been a huge fan of theirs and absolutely love sharing this interview I did with Deva.
Deva and Miten have been vegan since 2016, and Deva grew up as a vegetarian, and Miten has been a vegetarian since the late 60s.
In this interview, Deva shares lots of ideas that leave a lot of food for thought.
