  • 29: Why I don’t eat dairy

If you were told you had to give up dairy, how would you react? Could you do it? What would you miss the most? Do you know how you would replace it? In this podcast, I share with you how and why I replaced dairy with other plant based foods. Giving up cheddar cheese was something I thought I would never be able to do, but I am now 10 years cheddar free.

    In the podcast

I will cover why lactose is hard to digest

why I choose not to eat dairy

what somatic cells in dairy are

how I like to use the term replace, rather than give up

how I thought giving up cheese would be something that could never happen

how I now think I couldn’t live without tahini

  • 27: Body reacting to stress & food for dental health

In this podcast I share with you how quickly my body reacts to stress and all the things I do to help with my gum health. What we eat really can help with our dental health.

When I am stressed, my body quickly reacts to it and I often will get something wrong with my gums.  I ask you the question in this podcast, where does your body react to stress?

I also share everything I eat and do to prevent gum and dental issues.  This does not mean I don’t go to the dentist, but food really can help with preventing dental health issues.

  • 25: Come join the sauerkraut club

Earlier this year I created the sauerkraut club. In this episode of the Vegan Cooking and Nutrition show I talk about why I created the club and the wonderfulness of eating sauerkraut on a daily basis.

I also talk about the health benefits of sauerkraut and why making your own sauerkraut is way better than buying it.

To do an online sauerkraut class with me it is only $40 and then after that you can join the club where you will get to join in any of the classes I run throughout the year.

At time of recording the club is only $80 per year but will soon be going up to $99 per year. The club meets every 3 to 4 weeks.

To book in to the club you can email me [email protected]

I also share a fried rice with sauerkraut recipe and the FCT is what type of jars to use to make sauerkraut.

  • 21: Substitutes for eggs

Last week, I was contacted by a reporter from Bulgarian Nova TV and the Guardian newspaper. They wanted ideas on egg substitutes. This made me realise that the egg shortage is not restricted to Australia.

The wonderful Jesika, who has graduated from the Vegan Chef Training alerted me a few weeks ago about the shortage and the horrific death of so many chickens due to Avian flu virus H5N1.

I had already done 10 days’ worth of social media on egg substitutes and I thought I’d better get a news flash podcast out to all you wonderful listeners to get you some really fabulous egg substitute ideas so you can save some money, not worry about contracting a strain of bird flu and eat some sensationally delicious food that doesn’t contain eggs.

So get your note jotter out and listen to this episode, episode number 21 for some epic egg alternatives.

    In the show I cover

    >    Can you eat eggs every day

    >    Protein and Omelette Substitutes

    >    Scrambles

    >    Snack Substitutes

    >    Black salt
