In this week's programme, Sam and Julia give our CEO, Nathan McLellan, a break from his usual organisational update and instead talk about his recent article in Common Ground on the "forgotten doctrine" of Christ's ascension. They catch up with alumnus Daniel Mazengarb (Intern 2010/11, VVP Auckland 2019) about his experience on the Vocational Programme with his wife, Mel, the birth of their four-week-old baby, and his work at Christian Savings. Sam and Julia also chat to alumna Rachel Wilson (Intern 2009) and her husband, Tim, about parenting, education, music, media, and reframing our understanding of success. And finally, you'll be able to hear more from Venn's Residential Fellowship Director, Donald Goodhall, about this year's cohort of Fellows and his recent musical offering in Common Ground, "Singin' in the Rain".

This week, Sam and Julia chat to alumnus Joshua Peauafi (Summer Conference 2020) about his work with Young Enterprise in the Wellington region, and to his wife, Nicky, about her business, Potplant Studio. They also catch up with alumna Grace Bucknell (Fellowship, 2017/18) about her move to the United Kingdom that was cut short by COVID-19, and about her recently launched podcast, Neither Mary Nor Martha. And finally, Sam hears more from Luke Fenwick about adjusting to life as a new parent and to discuss Luke's article on friendship from last week's Common Ground.

On this week's programme, Sam and Julia chat to alumni Nico and Michelle Neethling about their separate experiences on the Residential Internship, their long-distance relationship, some of their parenting experiences, and the stories of economic hardship that Nico is seeing through his job at BNZ. You'll hear from one of Venn's Adjunct Teaching Fellow's, Hannah Chapman, who shares about her work and her family's papa kāinga in Turangi. And you'll catch an interview with Vocational Programme alumnus, the Revd Frank Ritchie, who shares about his role as chaplain to New Zealand's overworked and often under-appreciated media.

On this week's programme, you'll hear from alumnus Annette McHugh (née Pereira) about her work for a Federal MP in Australia and the similarities and differences between the COVID-19 responses across the Tasman. This week, Sam and Julia broaden out the Zoom call and chat to three friends from the last Fellowship cohort: Lucy Collingwood, Natalie Duchesne, and Luke Edwards. These three compare their flatting situations under lockdown and chat about some of the challenges, fun, and opportunities that have emerged over these past four weeks. And finally, you'll be able to (audibly) meet the newest member of the Venn team–Jude Fenwick–and hear from the delighted new parents, Luke and Olivia Fenwick.

And staying in the capital, this week you will hear from Venn Wellington Co-ordinator and Senior Teaching Fellow John Dennison about his life as a chaplain at Victoria University, his three Common Ground pieces on prayer, and how he is finding time for God, for family, and for poetry.

This week, Sam and Julia chat to alumnus Paul Gardiner (Intern 2015/16) about his family's kiwifruit business in Cambridge and how they are navigating a busy harvesting season in the midst of lockdown. You'll also hear from Rebecca Dow, who sits on the Venn Board and who is an alumna of the Vocational Programme (Auckland, 2017). Rebecca shares some stories about her role as an Education Consultant and as an Aunty during Alert Level 4. This week on the show, Sam and Julia chat to medical registrar Ruth Bollen (Fellow, 2018/19) about some of her experiences on the COVID-19 response team at Whangarei Hospital. You'll hear from Jane Silloway-Smith who is living with her family in lockdown half-way across the world in California. In last week's Common Ground, Jane shared a type of Rule of Life and in this week's programme, she expands more on what that practice looks like, especially in the midst of an increasing lockdown period for Americans. Sam and Julia also catch up with Andre Muller, Venn's newest Senior Teaching Fellow, about his piece on Holy Week from last week's Common Ground. There are also pieces from Nathan McLellan, Venn's CEO, and Olivia Burne, Communications and Marketing Manager, to give you an update on Venn's response to COVID-19.
