Dauntless 1: I Refuse to Compromise

Daniel was an Israelite who was taken to Babylon in captivity because God’s people had fallen into sin and were no longer looking to God as their sovereign. However, Daniel was a young man of conviction and refused to compromise his submission to God and His law. Even when faced with certain death, for disobedience to king Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel refused to compromise. Today, the church is faced with the exact same call to dauntless refusal to compromise. Seeing Red: Letting Go Of Payback

In the Law and in the New Testament, we find God saying, “Vengeance is mine.” He is a just God who will see that every wrong will be paid for. We are not to pick up the responsibility of making others pay for what they have done to us. Instead, we are to leave that in God’s hands. This is a completely foreign concept in today’s culture of rights, lawsuits, protests, and easy offense, and vengeance. We are called to be a people who live at peace and do good. We are called to live with complete trust that God will be our Judge.
