It's easy to feel like time is slipping through our fingers. In this episode we delve into the overwhelming feeling of not having enough time to check off our endless to-do lists. We discuss ways to cope with the sense that life is hurtling by too fast, how to quiet the internal critic who tells us we aren't doing enough, and why doing nothing is actually a form of healing. Jess shares the secret to transforming late school drop offs. And Layne casts a spell to slow down time.

There is some REALLY tough stuff going on in our world right now. And we're all trying to figure out how navigate tough conversations about it--internally, online, with friends and family. In this episode, we don't get into the nitty gritty of geopolitics. Instead, we try to broadly grapple with questions like:
How do we talk to kids about tragedies?
How much should I shield my kids from hard things to preserve their innocence?
What's the best way to break bad news to children--divorce, death of a grandparent, parent getting sick, etc...?
Is it ok for my kids to see me be sad?
As always, we finish with a generous dose of encouragement for parenting in this challenging time.

This week's listener question comes from our community:
I'd be interested in further discussion of something that come up during the call: rest being a practice. Recently, I have really been trying to shift towards this, rest during nap time, instead of using the time to clean house. But unsuccessfully! It's just so tempting to think "oh I could get the house tidied up SO quickly no that she's asleep" and then nap time is over and all I've done is cleaned.
